"Princess Your Highness, are you tired?"

Tom asked caringly as he looked at Fang Xiaocao.

"I'm okay, I can still hold on!"

Fang Xiaocao smiled and responded.

Tom nodded and said no more.

Given the enemy was hidden and they were exposed, it was still not the time to rest. They needed to reach a relatively safe place first and then arrange to rest, which was the smart move.

After walking for another half-hour, Taotie, who was leading the way, suddenly stopped, made a cautious gesture to those behind, and crouched in the bushes.

Seeing Taotie's gesture, Fang Xiaocao had yet to react when the quick-witted Tom pulled her down beside a tree.

Tom instructed Fang Xiaocao to stay close to the tree trunk, while he himself crouched on the outside of her, using his tall body as a shield to protect her from any harm that might come their way.
