Bab 44: Fighting a Golden Core Beetle (1)

Ezequiel knew he was in trouble the moment he spotted the red beetle. This was no ordinary creature; it was an Explosive Beetle, a more dangerous evolution of the Acidic Beetle. These beetles were on par with Mid-Level species in both strength and talent, which meant they shouldn't even exist in a Low-World.

The odds of a Low-Level species evolving its bloodline were so slim and the requirements so strict that it was nearly impossible for it to happen in a Low-World.

The only explanation was that this beetle had come from a Mid- or higher-level world. It wasn't unusual for families or sects to send their members to lower-level worlds for training and to strengthen their resolve.
