Baisheng Trade Center, a large number of cars and barricades had blocked the streets, teams of Contractors armed with weapons summoned their Spirit Envoys, patrolling and standing guard.

Each team was responsible for a small area; although there were times when they overlapped, there wasn't much communication—obviously, they were not from the same group.

Moving inward from this security perimeter, aside from the patrolling Contractors, more teams of Contractors began to appear between the buildings.

One or two buildings constituted a temporary stronghold; grouped in twos and threes, some people had cigarettes dangling from their mouths, crumpled cigarettes that came from who knows where, and others were preparing food—though not making much noise, just distributing dry rations like handouts.

A few men carrying bags were distributing them while grumbling, "Fill your bellies; don't fight on an empty stomach."
