Bab 214: Story 214: The Betrayer’s Keep

Damien Rook stood before the crumbling remains of Betrayer’s Keep, a fortress said to have once held the most treacherous figures of the pre-apocalypse world. Now, it served as a stronghold for something far worse—an alliance of survivors who had made a pact with the Zombie King. These betrayers had sold their humanity in exchange for protection, but Damien knew there was more to the story. Somewhere within the keep, a familiar face awaited—Marcus, an old ally-turned-enemy.

"Are you sure about this?" Lena asked, her voice filled with concern. She could sense the weight of the moment.

Damien nodded, his jaw clenched. "I have to face him."

The heavy iron doors groaned open as Damien and Lena entered the keep. The air was thick with decay, the stench of rotting bodies clinging to the walls. The once-grand hall was now a wasteland of broken stone, overrun with the undead. Silent, watchful, they stood at the edges of the room, their glowing eyes tracking Damien’s every movement.
