The Yecine stood rigid in the small home. Each slight touch of her spirit against any surface brought a fresh wave of sensation - the longing so fierce it made her hyperventilate, the anger that burned like snaking acid under her skin, and the fears so chilling that her stomach felt like a lump of solid ice.
Finally unable to continue, she pulled back everything and just breathed to collect herself. Qatrand felt frayed, vulnerable, and all too overwhelmed. When she spoke, her low voice held such a thick emotional tone that it sounded like she was growling.
"I had no idea you would be like this."
The brunette hung back and lowered her head. Her spirit had pulled inward the moment she felt her beloved recoil hers. Shame blanched her young cheeks. It was not the first time she had ever heard that kind of assessment, though she had hoped those kinds of words would never be spoken to her by the swordswoman.

Seraphelki For someone in a first relationship, Qat is just too good. Though for someone who has been in fairly successful ones in her past life, El lets the bad instances make her worry too much~
I suppose it could be argued from a certain angle that Qatrand's almost naive desire to accept whatever comes out of the cute girl is probably a dependency. El is the first person she understands loves her, not ever feeling it from her family in a way quite so obvious. Or you know, ever said in words.
So there could indeed be a subconscious pull to not lose that connection - but of course there is. Girl got an amazing if seemingly high-maintenance wife! Who the hell wants to lose the person they love?
But she's also been clear to set a boundary or two in the past, so she's not a pushover either. She just *likes* to lay down for- ahem. Nevermind.
It's interestingly - but understandably - a lot easier to write these blurbs when I actually, you know, wrote the chapter that same day.
Even being a single one ahead makes you go 'wait, what exactly was in this one? I have to skim it *again*?'
