He went back to Pearl with Mo Fan and used the days he still had for three step tower and broke through the third level in both Light and Earth elements. By the time he was done cultivating he out of time in the three step tower and his rank in the Earth School was lower.
Lin Feng didn't bother increasing his rank any higher it was because of a fundamental problem, most of the students higher than him had better equipment or offensive elements.
Even for their basic spells he either to dodge, use his equipment or ultimately use his intermediate spells to block and in the end he could grind out a victory against but what's the point.
Other than time in the three step tower, there was no resource that he couldn't buy at this point, it was not efficient enough to improve his ranking. Whatever he spent on resources could almost be earned back if he went hunting with Lingling, which would also help him improve his Mental Strength, which was the hardest to improve, he had yet to reach the second tier although Mo Fan long had.
As for Mo Fan's cultivation it wasn't as straightforward as his Mental Strength, old Wolf had slowed after his evolution. His Fire and Lightning were at the third tier, he was still a bit away from upgrading both of them to the fourth tier.
But he did make all of his Basic spells fourth tier even the Summoning one which wasn't previously the case. To all this Lin Feng could only sigh.
