Bab 24: Chapter 24 – Massacre [2]
After everything was over, he entered the warehouse to find the last group that hid in the corner. There was the boss and the last 10 of his gang members. They were in despair and fear, trembling in front of him when he showed up.
"Fucking monsters! Why did it show up in our warehouse?" Troy, the boss of the gang, screamed as he tried to stop shaking in fear. "Fuck it! Kill it, boys. Show this creature who's the boss!"
Unlike the people showing up earlier, they held a proper sword and ax. Two people had a handgun too. They were not completely helpless.
Vale smiled slightly as he spread his arms to welcome them. He even added an eerie chuckle to make himself look more intimidating.
The gang rushed at him with everything they had. Their skills were activated one by one as they swung their weapons toward him. Some had strange skills, such as allowing them to make their fingers longer.
But none of that mattered to Vale.
"One-edged Sword Style, Mountain Splitting Slash!"
No Qi was needed. He simply moved his hand and body naturally. A crescent-shaped wind pressure was created and went through everything in its path. The gang was cut into pieces in an instant.
One swing, 10 people died. Boxes and shelves were destroyed and turned into dust by the force of his attack. It was overkill, but he didn't care about that.
Troy was still alive and was lying on the ground in horror and disbelief.
'This is easy.' Vale thought as he shook his head and sighed inwardly, 'Too easy that I am scared.'
He sheathed his sword and walked toward Troy. The man was in tears as he couldn't understand what just happened.
People knew that monsters couldn't be reasoned with, but the small-time gang leader still begged for mercy.
"Don't kill me! Don't kill me!" He cried out as he looked at Vale with fear in his eyes, "I will give you all the money I have! I-I will become your followers. I am level 11 and I will be useful to you!"
Vale didn't answer him as he grabbed Troy's neck and raised him up in the air with one hand. The man was choking and struggled to breathe as he felt his head about to explode from the strong grip.
But Vale didn't care about that. He looked at him coldly without saying anything.
"Please! I will do anything!" Troy gasped for air and choked as he felt his life fading away from him, "I-I will..."
His face swelled up as he couldn't speak anymore. Veins appeared on his forehead, neck, and mouth.
Finally, the boss of the gang died and fell on the ground with a loud thud. The appearance was horrifying and wasn't a nice thing to look at.
Vale stepped over him and walked out of the warehouse with his hands in his pocket.
'Now, I have to destroy 3 more and leave 5 bigger ones for Thomas to deal with. I also have to destroy this warehouse too, to match my monster appearance.'
An intelligent monster. He wanted the government to realize that something like that existed.
Vale had met one before. The boss he killed in the apocalypse was definitely intelligent. And because there was a Demon spotted too, he wanted to be prepared for a Devil appearance. Those guys were cunning and some were smarter than humans.
'Even today, the government still blocked the dungeons. Me and my group have a pass, but that annoying cop is always there to watch us. That's why I need to give them a wake up call.'
With gangs gathering together to make a strong front with Thomas and a monster roamed around in Las Vegas and New York, the government would have to make a move unless they wanted chaos to break out in the cities.
And that move would lead to a change in policy, making it easier for Survivors to run dungeons and gain levels without worrying about the cops or gangs.
'Turning Las Vegas into a lawless city where gambling and money was everything would make it easier for us to control the gang. Sacrifices are needed. Ideals can't be achieved in this world.' Vale thought as he looked at the dark sky above him.
'Well, let's dirty my hands more before I am exhausted from using too much Qi.'
With that thought in his head, Vale destroyed the warehouse behind him with three quick slashes and walked away.
That night, many people reported gunshots and sighted of white humanoid monster in a form of a mist. People who saw it were either scared, some pissed themselves, or dead without being able to say anything.
A few buildings were reported to be destroyed by the said monster before it disappeared somewhere else. The same report was received from New York before dawn. And by morning, blood and corpses were found in Las Vegas and New York too.
The government had no choice but to react to this news and declared that it would send people to investigate this matter.
It was also the same day Vale Gilstar returned to New York and went to the gym. Kiara was waiting for him there. She had noticed his absence and contacted him when he was in Vegas.
"Ah, Vale." Kiara smiled at him when she saw him. However, that expression was soon turned into a serious one as she approached him. "Are you okay?"
"Yes, why?" He asked as he looked at her confusedly.
"Your expression is not what I am used to." She explained as she crossed her arms, "You look like shit."
He was taken aback by her comment. As always, she was sharp. Was it because her passion was sword that her intuition became as sharp as it?
Vale shook his head and smiled slightly.
"Sorry about that." He said as he stretched his body, "I wrote my new novel when I was away and didn't sleep well."
"Then take a nap." She replied as she pushed him toward the bench in the corner of the gym, "I will wake you up later."
