Bab 49: Novice to Adept

Ryan sat cross-legged in the center of a serene clearing, his eyes closed in deep concentration.

Beside him, Jun, his now second contracted spirit, hovered anxiously. Her delicate, insect-like wings shimmered in the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves above.

"Are you ready, Master?" Jun's voice was soft but filled with anticipation.

Ryan took a deep breath, his green aura pulsing gently around him. "As ready as I'll ever be. Let's do this."

Jun nodded, her wings twitching slightly. "Remember, to advance from Novice to Adept rank, you must face your fears within. Are you sure you want me to be the one guiding you through this?".

Ryan cracked open one eye and gave her a lopsided grin. "Who better to help me face my fear of insects than my favorite bug spirit?"

Jun's eyes seemed to narrow in what might have been a playful glare. "I prefer the term 'arthropod enthusiast', thank you very much."
