The sun had just begun to set on the horizon, casting long golden shadows across the decks of the 'Support', a fourth-rate ship serving as the flagship of the fleet. In its lavish captain's quarters, Rear Admiral Newman stood with his back to the door, immersed in thought. He had just received a stack of documents from Captain Byron. It has been one day since their fleet successfully navigated through the treacherous first gyre.

"This… this is the method for artificially producing spices?" Rear Admiral Newman's voice trembled ever so slightly as he glanced over the title page. He lifted his eyes to Captain Byron, who stood confidently before him. "Captain Byron, you managed to secure this invaluable knowledge in such a short amount of time?" Newman's disbelief was evident.
