Bab 15: Chapter 15 : Identity Exposed??
"If there are no bones left, it's fine. As long as the prisoners on the basement level are taken care of, it's over!"
With these words, Magellan turned and made his way towards the stairwell, clutching the wound on his shoulder.
The out-of-control poison giant disintegrated instantly, turning into a cloud of venom that poured downwards.
Magellan, breathing heavily, climbed the stairs slowly. After more than ten minutes, he encountered Sadi and a group of jailers waiting at the fourth basement floor's staircase.
When Magellan descended earlier, he had used too much venom in the stairwell in his haste, causing everyone except him to hesitate about entering.
"Oh no, Warden, you're injured!" Sadi exclaimed in shock, her anxiety palpable. She didn't dare approach Magellan, so she instructed the jailers to contact a doctor immediately. It was crucial to avoid any further poisoning—Magellan's blood itself was highly toxic.
Magellan waved dismissively. "There's no need. Just help me prepare the elevator. I need to get to the basement right away."
Understanding the urgency, Sadi responded quickly. "Warden, the commotion in the basement has been handled by Hannyabal! The prisoners are back in their cells. Your priority now should be treatment!"
"Really?" Magellan sighed in relief and sat down on the ground. "That's good to hear."
Magellan had faith in Hannyabal's abilities. As long as Hannyabal was serious, handling the chaos in the upper level was not a significant concern.
Magellan took a moment to collect himself before adding, "By the way, make sure everyone is informed not to go to the fifth basement floor for now. It's currently filled with toxins!"
Magellan was aware of his own destructive power, and it would take some time for the toxins from the battle he had fought on the fifth underground floor to dissipate.
Entering now would be dangerous, even with a gas mask.
Sadi nodded and remarked, "I never imagined that clown Buggy could push you to this extent! He must have been hiding many secrets."
Magellan replied calmly, "It doesn't matter what his intentions were. He's dead now."
"That's a pity," Sadi said. "We could have made him suffer more."
Magellan remained silent, already accustomed to Sadi's peculiar interests.
Just as Sadi was about to say more, Domino hurried over with a serious expression and a document in hand.
"Warden, there's urgent news from the Navy Headquarters!"
Domino approached, pulled a gas mask from his pocket, and put it on before walking up to Magellan and handing over the papers.
Magellan frowned. Instead of taking the documents, he asked, "Is this information classified?"
Domino shook his head. "No, it's about the true identity of Buggy the Clown and some speculation concerning the Navy Headquarters."
Magellan was unimpressed. After all, Buggy was now deceased.
He didn't bother examining the documents. Instead, he closed his eyes and said, "Let's find a secure place to read this."
Domino nodded, opened the file, and began reading aloud: "According to reliable sources, it has been confirmed that Buggy the Clown was a former member of the crew of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger."
"What?!! He was part of Gol D. Roger's crew?!!"
Sadi's exclamation interrupted Domino's reading.
Magellan's eyes flew open, and the jaws of the surrounding jailers dropped in shock.
"Why is a member of Gol D. Roger's crew imprisoned in Impel Down? And in the lower levels, no less?!"
"A member of the Pirate King's crew? That's impossible! Those are just legends!"
"Exactly! The original crew of Gol D. Roger's ship has almost entirely vanished! The only one still active on the seas is Shanks, one of the Four Emperors!"
After the jailers reacted, they immediately started to chatter among themselves, their voices rising in excitement and disbelief!
Domino, unfazed by the commotion, continued, "It has been confirmed that Buggy the Clown and Red-Haired Shanks, one of the Four Emperors, share a close relationship. They used to often be referred to as brothers, and they were rarely seen apart."
"What a joke! Are you telling me that Buggy the Clown is on the same level as Red-Haired Shanks, one of the Four Emperors?"
Domino's explanation was abruptly cut off by a loud interruption from Sadi.
"So we were up against such a terrifying figure? No wonder we couldn't stop him at all!"
"Did you see how flustered the prison warden was? We're lucky to be alive!"
"Hey, if Buggy the Clown and Red-Haired Shanks are on the same level, then doesn't that mean the warden who could defeat Buggy the Clown could also take down Red-Haired Shanks?"
"Wow! I knew Warden Magellan was the strongest! Long live Warden Magellan!"
"Hooray! Banzai! Banzai!"
After a frenetic outburst of brainstorming, the jailers cheered as if Magellan were a deity.
"Alright, quiet down!" Magellan snapped, his irritation evident. The cheering jailers fell silent, startled by his command.
Magellan knew his own strength well and understood that it wasn't comparable to a figure of the Four Emperors' level.
Although Buggy the Clown was strong, he was not invincible. If Buggy hadn't been so familiar with his own abilities and weaknesses, the battle wouldn't have been nearly as challenging.
Once the room was quiet, Magellan turned to Domino and asked, "Is there any other news?" If it's just about Buggy the Clown's identity, there's no need to discuss it further.
Domino hesitated before responding, "Yes, there are also some speculations about Buggy the Clown's intentions. However, it involves sensitive information, so I cannot disclose it here."
"Just that Buggy the Clown's goal is connected to the important prisoner who was scheduled to be escorted here tomorrow morning!"
"For security reasons, the Navy Headquarters has decided to detain this crucial prisoner at their facility and not send him to Impel Down!"
"At the same time, they want us to quickly restore order and apprehend Buggy the Clown!"
Magellan's face turned dark with anger as he heard this, and he slammed his fist into the ground.
During their previous confrontation, he had inadvertently revealed some details to Buggy. However, instead of showing surprise, Buggy had informed him that the Navy Headquarters planned to send Fire Fist Ace to Impel Down the following day.
This indicated that the Navy Headquarters' speculation was likely correct!
Magellan took a moment to collect himself before ordering, "Domino, go immediately and inform the Navy Headquarters that the situation has been brought under control and that Buggy the Clown has been eliminated on the spot!"
"Yes, sir!"
Domino replied, quickly turning and running towards Magellan's office.
At that moment, several doctors in protective suits rushed in with stretchers and began to transport Magellan to the operating room.
