Gu Nanzhou sat on the sofa, the dim light casting half-bright, half-dark shadows on his face.

Faint whispers could be heard.

But he couldn't hear them.

The moment he saw Su Wan supporting another man as they walked away, he already panicked.

Gu Nanzhou finally admitted to himself that she really seemed to not want him anymore.

A sharp pain shot through his heart, and Gu Nanzhou suddenly felt as if he were enveloped in an endless expanse of darkness.

Cold, despairing, helpless.

A sour and bitter emotion invaded his heart, spreading to his limbs, and the temperature at his fingertips dropped bit by bit.

Gu Nanzhou lowered his eyes, his hand opened then clenched, blood seeping through the gaps in his fingers, his knuckles raw and red, covered in marks that stood out starkly against his pale skin.

He watched quietly for a long while, his lips twitching with difficulty.

Gu Nanzhou thought mockingly to himself that he had brought this upon himself.

He deserved it.
