In the days that followed, life settled into a calm routine. Uchiha Sasuke continued attending school, while Uchiha Waku secluded himself within the space of Kagutsuchi, researching and developing new ninjutsu.
However, due to his lack of foundational knowledge, Waku hadn't made any progress. The ninja academy curriculum covered basic hand seals, three basic techniques, battlefield knowledge, the Will of Fire, and... not much else!
Stitch, on the other hand, had made remarkable strides. Within days, he mastered chakra manipulation, possessing even more chakra than Waku had before obtaining the Sage Body.
And this was just the beginning. With enough time, Stitch might rival a tailed beast in chakra capacity.
As Waku sat pondering in Kagutsuchi's space, the system's voice suddenly interrupted.
[Ding! Mission issued: Steal the Sealing Scroll. Time limit: seven days.]
[Mission rank: Two stars.]
[Rewards: 2 lottery tickets, 1 summoning card, 1000 exchange points.]
[Accept the mission?]
"Damn it, System! Do you realize I just went through a life-and-death situation?" Waku protested. "Absolutely not! I won't do it!"
The Sealing Scroll was kept in the Hokage Tower, guarded by ANBU. Any slip-up would brand him a rogue ninja, hunted relentlessly.

The system's threat caught Waku off guard. Perhaps it had grown tired of his cowardly behavior.
"Fine, fine, I'll accept it, annoying system," Waku reluctantly agreed, inwardly cursing: "Stupid system, what nonsense."
"Hmph~"
Unbeknownst to Waku, within the system's space, a playful cold snort echoed:
"Well, first things first—get yourself a mask to conceal your true identity."
And so, using Kagutsuchi's space manipulation, Waku materialized a fearsome Tengu mask.
"For escape, smoke bombs are handy. And don't forget the wire mesh armor, handguns, silencers, and grenades..."
After some attempts, he only managed to materialize the wire mesh armor successfully. As for the other items, he lacked knowledge of their internal structures and manufacturing principles.
Despite his hyperthymesia, Waku hadn't been a soldier in his previous life, so he hadn't bothered with studying those things.
"Ah, forget it. I'll stick with cold weapons."
Next, Waku manifested a short knife, a crossbow, a blowgun, and some tranquilizers.
With everything prepared, Waku planned to scout the area that night.

In the evening, Sasuke returned home after school, entering their shared house. Since the Uchiha clan had dwindled down to just the two of them, the other houses were under the Hokage's care.
"Hey, the clan head is back," Waku greeted.
"What did you say? You useless piece of trash, how dare you call me that?" Sasuke's face darkened upon hearing the nickname Waku had given him.
"Hah, still giving me attitude?" Waku retorted. "I might have feared your brother, but that doesn't mean I fear you. Now that I'm not afraid of your brother anymore, what can a little brat like you do?"
"Aid me, Stitch!" Waku commanded.
Stitch, hearing Waku's words, bared his teeth and lunged toward Sasuke on two legs.
"Hmph, just a mere spirit beast. Let me show you what a true Uchiha is!" Sasuke charged first, wielding a kunai.
But could Sasuke, even as a genin, match Stitch, who was more than just an ordinary spirit beast?
With a swift dodge, Stitch evaded the kunai hurtling toward him. Then, in a single leap, he closed the gap, landing a punch squarely on Sasuke's face.
Sasuke collapsed to the ground.
"How is this possible?" Sasuke couldn't believe he couldn't even defeat a spirit beast.
"How can I ever avenge myself like this?" A surge of indescribable frustration overwhelmed him. His pitch-black pupils turned blood-red, and a single tomoe appeared in his eyes.
Sasuke erupted, throwing Stitch off him. Stitch nimbly landed on his feet.
"Roar! The last Uchiha, awakened the Sharingan! You truly are a genius," Waku taunted.
"Shut up!"
Ignoring Stitch, Sasuke charged at Waku, fueled by rage. He didn't care about Stitch, who had just beaten him. He was determined to make this worthless guy pay.
"Help, Stitch!" Waku exaggeratedly cried out, pretending to be terrified. But seriously, could he tone down the smile while saying that?
As expected, Stitch intervened, blocking Sasuke. The result? Sasuke received a thorough beating. The current Sasuke stood no chance against Stitch, whose overall strength rivaled that of a chūnin!
Sasuke's face turned into a pig's head. Eventually, he passed out from sheer frustration, much to Waku's annoyance.
"That meddling brat fainted. Time to proceed," Waku thought. He couldn't afford any slip-ups. Everything had to go perfectly.
...
Late at night, Uchiha Waku donned the Tengu mask and transformed into a ghost, stealthily moving through the darkness.
This time, he left Stitch behind; Stitch's appearance was too recognizable. So, Waku had to act alone.
Arriving at the Hokage Tower, Waku noticed two squads of chūnin patrolling outside, with four ANBU guards on high alert.
With such tight security, Waku couldn't infiltrate the Hokage Tower tonight.
He decided to scout the area and return tomorrow with Stitch. After all, Stitch's X-ray vision would allow them to assess the situation from the inside.
