Bab 75: Killing The Rat

Evelyn gasped, her eyes wide with shock. Her world started spinning, Mariam's words causing her vision to get blurry with tears. Could it be true? Could her mother, Gracia, was still alive? Could she be finally released from the sins of killing her?

"What do you mean?!" Damien glowered, taking a step forward and looming over the petite women. His eyes grew dangerously dark, their anger making both Reema and Mariam flinch in fear. 

"Sh-she is just babbling. Don't mind her words," Reema stammered, clutching onto her mom firmly who was trembling under Damien's intimidating presence. 

"Don't lie to me!" Damien warned, taking a step forward and forcing both the women to stumble backward. 

"Wh-why would I lie about it? She has a serious illness and acts like this every day. And you just triggered her worst memory." Reema retorted, tears trickling down her eyes.
