Bab 20: A Thief

"Why?" Evelyn asked innocently, turning around to meet his eyes. She undid her bun, letting her dark brown waves cascade down before slowly pulling them all to her left side.

That was Zevian's weak point. He would always lose whenever she did that to tease him. Evelyn blinked innocently as his face hardened in frustration. That's how torturous it is when you tease me, you idiot! she screamed inside her head, her expression every bit victorious.

"Wait," Evelyn gasped, feigning surprise. "Are you afraid of falling for me again?" When Zevian's eyes narrowed, she continued, "Or worried someone else might like it as much as you do?"
