Bab 105: Hunter Was Blake?

Jessica followed Damon and Emily to the dining room, where the table was already set with an array of breakfast dishes.

Damon settled Emily in her chair, and Jessica took her seat beside the little girl. As she poured syrup over Emily's pancakes, she couldn't help but notice the curious glances Damon kept throwing her way.

"So, Ms Monroe," Damon began, his tone casual, but his eyes sharp with curiosity. "You seemed quite interested in Hunter earlier. Care to share why?"

Jessica kept her expression neutral as she sliced a piece of pancake and offered it to Emily. "Oh, it's nothing, really," she replied smoothly.

"I've heard about him before, but never met him. And then, seeing how much Emily adores him... I guess I was just curious," she said with a shrug.

Damon leaned back in his chair, studying her. "Curious, huh?" His tone was teasing, but there was an undercurrent of something more.
