The transformation was complete.
When I opened my eyes, the world felt different—sharper, more intense. My senses had been heightened, every sound clearer, every movement more fluid. The man, the figure who had mirrored me, was gone, but his words echoed in my mind: You're not just a killer. You're a force of nature.
I could feel the power flowing through me, like electricity coursing through my veins. The restraints on my existence, the walls I had always thought were impenetrable, had shattered. There was no longer a need to pretend, to fit into the mold society had created for me. I was free.
The door to the room opened, and the man who had been overseeing my "training" entered. His expression was unreadable, but I could see a flicker of something—approval, perhaps. He had been waiting for this moment, and I could feel that he was almost eager to see how far I had come.
"How do you feel?" he asked, his voice calm, but his eyes betrayed a sense of anticipation.
I stood up slowly, feeling the strength in my legs. The physical enhancements had changed me, made me stronger, faster, more capable. But it wasn't just my body that had evolved. It was my mind, my perception. The world no longer seemed like a maze to navigate—it was mine to control.
"I feel… perfect," I said, my voice low, almost a whisper. The power in it was palpable, like a dark force pressing against the air itself.
The man nodded, as though he had been expecting that answer. "Good. You're ready for the next phase."
"Phase three," I said, tasting the words. There was no hesitation now, no fear. It was all clear. The goal had always been to reach this moment, to surpass the limitations of the ordinary world.
"Yes," the man replied. "It's time to test your abilities. You've been given everything you need—now we'll see how you use it."
I followed him through the halls again, but this time, I walked with purpose. The cold, sterile environment didn't affect me. The scientists and the technicians, the people who had been monitoring my every move, now seemed insignificant. I was beyond them.
He led me into a new room, one I hadn't seen before. The space was larger than the others—more open, more dangerous. In the center of the room, a man stood, shackled to a chair. His face was hidden, but the sound of his labored breathing filled the room.
"Your target," the man said, gesturing toward the prisoner. "He's here for you. He's part of the final test. You'll decide what happens to him."
I looked at the man, a sense of cold satisfaction settling over me. He was just another piece in the game, another obstacle to be removed. I could feel the weight of my power, the thrill of control, deep within my chest.
"What do I do with him?" I asked, my voice devoid of emotion.
"Anything you want," the man replied. "This is the moment where you make your choice. You've been trained, enhanced, and given the means to reshape the world. How you use that power is entirely up to you."
I stepped closer to the man, his breath coming in ragged gasps. His eyes met mine, wide with fear, but there was something more in them—a recognition, as if he knew exactly who I was. As if he knew what I had become.
I reached out, touching his cheek lightly, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath my fingertips. For a moment, I thought about what I should do. Should I end him, as I had done with so many others? Should I make him suffer, savoring each second of his agony? But then I realized something—something I had been waiting for.
The power wasn't in killing. It wasn't in destruction. It was in control.
I straightened, and the prisoner's eyes flickered with confusion, his terror growing. He didn't understand why I hadn't acted yet. He didn't understand that I was beyond mere violence now. I wasn't a killer—I was the one who decided who lived and who died. I was the one who determined the rules.
"I'm going to let you go," I said, the words slipping out with ease. "But you'll never forget what you saw here. You'll never forget me."
The man's eyes widened in disbelief, but I could see the fear still lingering, deep inside him. He didn't know what I had become. He didn't know that I had transcended.
I nodded to the man who had led me here, and without a word, the prisoner was unshackled and led out of the room.
I stood there for a moment, alone in the silence. My heartbeat was steady, calm. There was no rush, no need for haste. I had all the time in the world now.
The man returned after a moment, his expression unreadable. "You've passed the final test," he said. "You've demonstrated the ultimate control."
I turned toward him, my gaze unwavering. "It's only the beginning," I said.
The man's lips curled into a faint smile. "Exactly. The world is waiting for you, Psychobi. But before you can truly change it, you'll need to understand your place in it."
"I already know my place," I replied. "And I'm ready to take it."
The world wasn't ready for what was coming. But I was. I had become something more than human—something impossible to stop. The future was mine, and nothing would stand in my way.
