"What my father said was very disrespectful, not only to you but to your family. And for that, I truly do apologize, Dr. Lucian."

Charlotte truly did not waste any time — as soon as they sat down in the living room, she quickly bowed her head and apologized to Lucian; her words, traveling in the air with no stutter or hesitation at all.

"Please raise your head, Ms. Hall Master," Lucian, however, just shook his head in response, "Although it was truly unexpected that he would say something like that, I do not really mind at all — you and the Elder are looking out for me, after all. But I do apologize, but my wife and I may not be legally married, but I am—"

"No," Charlotte raised her palm and cut Lucian off, "I know how much you love your family, that's why I'm apologizing — it was also completely unprofessional, despite my father's insistence that it was not."

"Hm."
