Bab 143: Insidious Entity

Alex stared at Aamon for a few moments as silence engulfed the surroundings.

"Did I?" Alex finally said, his transformation progressing even further as his nails turned into claws and his teeth into large fangs.

"I suggest that you do not make any hasty moves Alex, your family is quite close," Aamon said, his words made it sound like he was threatening Alex however his demeanor and tone told an entirely different story.

It looked like he was the more carefree man in the world, his body language saying that he wouldn't mind whatever Alex would do.

'So you really think that I can't kill you huh?' Alex thought before releasing a chuckle.

"I wonder about something Amon," Alex said, his tone had changed to become equally mischievous just like Amons.

Humming Amon motioned for Alex to continue, his curiosity clearly peaked.

"Since you are known for being deceitful, are you telling the truth when you are insinuating that you aren't afraid of me killing you, or is that a lie?" Alex asked as his smile turned vicious.

"How about we find the truth, Aamon," Alex said before disappearing from his location.

He had moved at speeds imperceptible to the human eye however Aamon seemed to see him just fine as he immediately started running toward the house.

'This bastard' Alex thought before increasing his speed even further, creating a sonic boom behind him.

*Boom*

Alex's speed increased multiple folds and he appeared right in front of Aamon, swinging a punch toward him.

His speed had already surpassed what Aamon could react to and thus the punch landed squarely on the devil's forehead.

*Bang*

With a loud banging sound, Alex heard the crunch of Aamons forehead cracking before he was thrown through multiple trees one after the other.

Alex didn't waste a single second before running after the man devil.

Hopping over the destruction that he had caused, Alex quickly arrived at Aamon's location, the man was still disoriented and was trying to get up, however, he wouldn't have such good luck as a kick was thrown onto his body.

*Bang*

The force of a full-powered kick was obviously stronger than a punch, and the aftermath clearly showed it, A kick from Alex had thrown Aamon more than fifty meters ahead, crashing through multiple trees before finally stopping.

One punch and a kick had already caused devastation in the forest behind Alex's house.

Quickly Alex arrived in front of Aamon once more.

The devil was covered in his own blood, bones could be seen piercing through his own skin and his forehead looked to have been caved in from the force of the first punch.

Overall the man looked wrecked, completely destroyed.

"It seems like you were lying," Alex said with a sneer as he looked at Aamon.

It was at this moment however that something completely baffling happened right before Alex's eyes.

The bloody Aamon before him vanished into thin air, no it was more like he simply evaporated and left behind some dark mist that quickly dispersed.

*Clap* *Clap*

Turning around quickly, Alex saw a person come closer from behind him, clapping as he got closer.

"You're just as strong as always, Alexander," the man said in a mischievous tone.

It was Aamon, he looked to be perfectly healthy, as if what Alex had just seen was but a mirage in a desert.

"How?" Alex asked as he stared at Aamon, his voice didn't quiver nor did he look surprised, in fact, Alex was perfectly calm.

"That was just one of my avatars," Aamon answered before walking to a fallen tree trunk and sitting down on it.

"Will you please sit down now? I simply want to have a talk with you, if I wished harm then I would have already kidnapped your sister." The man said as he motioned to a fallen tree trunk in front of him for Alex to sit.

Alex thought for a moment before nodding and sitting down, face to face with the devilish angel.

"What is it that you want to talk about?" Alex asked the man straightforwardly.

"Why are you mingling with these mutts and fake vampires?" Aamon asked first, his tone clearly showed his curiosity.

'Mutts? Fake vampires? Is he talking about the Quileute and the Cullens?' Alex thought quickly before narrowing his eyes.

"I don't think they are mutts and neither are they fake vampires. And what I do is none of your concern is it Amon?" Alex said, his voice deep and commanding as he looked at the devil.

"No it isn't any of my concern, I was simply curious, and as for whether they are real vampires or not, you should know that they arent considering the only true vampire in this world is you, so did you turn them yourself for them to be vampires?" Aamon asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"They're just a species of monsters that are trying to make themselves look noble by acting as if they are vampires," Aamon said as he started rubbing his monocle once more.

"In fact, the laws that they've made about not being discovered by humans are to protect them against us and not humans," Aamon said before giving a light chuckle as if he found the very cold one race a joke.

What he had said had actually made Alex think, and the more he did so, the more it made sense.

'It makes sense however I can't actually believe anything this guy says' Alex thought to himself before nodding.

"What else do you want to know?"

"Hmm, I wanted to know how you escaped the fate of losing yourself," Aamon asked, his eyes sharpening as he awaited Alex's answer.

"By losing myself do you mean how I escaped losing my body to that entity?" Alex asked to confirm if what Aamon was inquiring was what he thought of.

'He thinks that Alexander managed to escape the fate of me taking over his body?' Alex thought as he looked at Aamon.

Aamon nodded his head.

At that moment, a slight chuckle escaped Alex's mouth.

"I didn't"

Aamon's expression quickly changed as a faint amount of shock appeared on it.

"You didn't? That means..."

"That's right. Who you are talking to right now isn't Alexander, but it is alson't that entity," Alex said with a smile on his face.

"You aren't Alexander but you aren't that entity either?" Aamon asked, his expression of shock had turned into one of extreme curiosity.

Alex gave a nod however he didn't say anything, merely maintaining a mysterious smile on his face.

This seemed to cause Aamons to hope to be crushed as his shoulders fell down.

"So you aren't going to tell me?"

"I will however everything has a price doesn't it?" Alex said as his eyes gleamed in the darkness of the night.

"What do you want?" Aamon asked as a smile sprouted on his face once more.

"I'll have to tell you later, as I think Charlie and Bella are already awake from the commotion that we have caused," Alex said before standing up from the fallen tree trunk.

Aamon quickly followed suit, standing up from the log but still glancing at Alex directly.

"Let's meet here again, three days from now at two am," Alex said before waving his arm and disappearing into a dark mist.

Aamon was left there staring as he looked at where Alex had been, a single thought passing through his head.

'Is this what people feel when they deal with me?' Aamon thought as he noticed the minute speed-up heartbeat.

He had started as the oppressor and the unknown factor in this short match of theirs however in the end, it had been Alexander or whoever he was now that had actually remained mysterious.

'This is fun' Aamon thought before rubbing the edges of his monocle once more.

At that moment, Aamon disappeared and a flock of black crows that had been hidden in the forest started flying away at the same time.

Meanwhile, Alex quickly returned to his room and pretended to be asleep.

The hours passed and soon enough it was already morning, getting up from his bed, Alex wandered to the window and looked at the forest outside of their house.

It was strange, extremely so.

The forest looked fine as if the devastation that Alex had done yesterday was nothing but an illusion.

'That Aamon, his abilities are insidious as fuck.' Alex thought before he released a long sigh.

'I'll have to find more information about him in any way possible and make the deal I got with him as rewarding as possible at the same time' Alex thought as he remembered his talk with Aamon.

Bab 144: The Phone and the Devil

Inside his bedroom, Alex took out his phone and pushed a few numbers before making a call.

*Ring* *Ring*

It didn't take more than two rings for the person he was calling to answer.

"Yes boss"

It was Nicolas, who after three months had managed to become his second in command, he had adapted to the vampire blood better than all the others he had transformed, and after a couple of dosages, he had managed to attain back his human form.

And that wasn't even the end, Nicolas had managed to surpass what he had once been completely.

Compared to before when he looked like some run-of-the-mill hillbilly, he had become a handsome man, his body rippling with muscles.

It had truly been shocking to Alex when he had seen him after a month, while others had barely started to regain their hair, Nicolas had almost become fully humanlike.

"I need you to investigate a certain supernatural being, find every single mythological book, any supernatural gathering around the world. I don't care what it takes, find me all the information about a being called Aamon, the angel of deceit" Alex ordered while using the deep tone of voice that he reserved for his Alucard persona.

The reply was immediate as if it was the only answer that the man could give.

"Yes boss, I'll do everything in my power and even sacrifice myself to get the information that you need," Nicolas said, his tone as reverent as ever when he talked to Alex or rather Alucard.

"You do not need to sacrifice yourself, I need the information in two days at the longest, do everything you can to gather as much as you can however if you find none then that's fine as well, this isn't an easy task," Alex said before he heard an affirmative reply on the other side of the line.

"That's all, call me again after two days at this hour to give me the results of the investigation"

"Yes, boss."

Closing the call, Alex put the phone away into his pocket.

*Sigh*

Releasing a long-winded sigh, Alex sat on his bed.

'The more I stay in this world the more I find that I've been lied to by that fucking devil' Alex thought as he thought back to the faceless entity he had met before his reincarnation.

'World of Twilight my ass.' Alex thought with a sneer before he layed down completely on his bed.

'Sometimes, I think I made a mistake coming to this world, maybe I should have just chosen eternal rest?' Alex thought however at these moments memories of Alice, Bella, Emmet, Mike, and all the friends and even family he had made in this world came back to him. Reminding him of what he had to live for and the people for whom he would do anything.

'Isn't it ironic, when I first came here, I thought nothing of Bella, i tried to fit in as her brother by playing cheap jokes on her and practically insulting her every day.' Alex thought as a chuckle erupted from his mouth.

'Still, that guy' Alex thought as his mind wandered back to the devil who had brought him here and to the devil he would meet merely three days from now.

'Do they have a connection? Alexander called the so-called god, a devil and Aamon is in fact a real devil, would he know anything about him?' Alex thought as his mind whirred into motion however it ended up comming flat.

He had almost no information on Aamon, let alone an entity that most likely far surpassed him. Someone who has been able to steal the past Alexander's body, the body of a vampire progenitor, someone that even Amon seemed to be wary of.

*Huff*

Releasing a harsh breath, Alex quickly got rid of all the thoughts he had about the two.

He couldn't really do anything at the moment either way and implicating the Cullens or shapeshifters further would just cause them to get into grave danger.

Alex knew now that they stood absolutely no chance against Amon.

As he thought about this, his mind wandered off once more, this time to his mate, to his lover, and the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

'Are these feelings truly mine or are they just this forced mate bond that is affecting both of us?' Alex thought as he reminisced about his first meeting with Alice.

It had been during his first art class that he had held here in Forks.

Alice had suspicions about him even back then, in fact, she had been the first one to find out about Alex's true self or at least find out that he wasn't human.

Another light chuckle escaped Alex's mouth as he thought back to the lecture he had given him in Port Angels and then how she had said that she would accept him no matter what.

'Isn't that a bit contradictory Alice, or maybe it isn't since she was only giving me advice?'

'It really has been a while since I came into this world huh.'

Alex's thoughts wandered for a while until it was time to get ready for the new day, the sun was shining brightly upon Forks today.

'It seems that the Cullens will be going hiking once more.' Alex thought with a slight smile.

Getting up from the bed, Alex headed to the bathroom and quickly tidied up his hair and clothes going back to his well-kempt look that he always maintained.

Alex was a firm believer in the fact that appearances always mattered, in fact, he firmly believed that they were one of the most important aspects of a person who lived in a human society.

Humans are fickle creatures, they tend to forgive horrid people simply because of their looks or charisma and then incinerate innocent people because of their outward ugliness even if they have a heart of gold.

'Sometimes I wonder, was I more of a monster as a human or as a vampire' Alex thought before he got out of the bathroom and headed downstairs.

Bella was already awake and eating breakfast at the dining table whilst Charlie had already headed off to work.

"Did you sleep well?" Alex asked his sister before dragging a chair back and sitting together with her at the table.

Bella looked at him for a moment before she finished chewing the food in her mouth and then gave him a nod.

"Yeah, I thought I would have nightmares but I didn't have any," Bella said giving Alex a light smile.

Alex looked at her for a moment before giving her a smile of his own.

"Great"

'That's because the nightmare was actually in the real world and seated right next to you as he patted your head' Alex thought inwardly however he didn't tell her this information, Bella wouldn't be able to do anything and neither could she help in this supernatural clash of titans.

At most she would become a hostage otherwise she would simply be an accidental casualty if a battle were to erupt with her nearby.

"The Cullens won't be at school today right?" Bella asked as she motioned to the sunshine outside of the window.

Alex nodded his head.

"That's right, they will most likely go 'hiking' " Alex said as he extended the last word, Bella quickly got the meaning and erupted into a light laughter before calming down a few seconds later.

"Right, they sure do like hiking," Bella said before she got up and cleaned the table where she had eaten her breakfast.

At this moment a thought occurred to Alex.

'I forgot to ask Charlie for his autograph for the early graduation papers damned it' Alex thought before he quickly headed upstairs and took the papers into his hands and headed back down at superhuman speeds.

"Those are the papers to apply for early graduation right?" Bella asked curiously as she tried to peek at the papers.

"Yeah, I forgot to get Charlie to sign this so I'll just be fabricating his signature, and I'll tell him when he comes back," Alex said before taking a blue pen and putting Charlie's signature down onto the paper.

"That's illegal isn't it?" Bella asked as she looked at him.

"Right, doesn't really matter since Charlie's my dad, and I can just tell him later," Alex said to her whilst he felt like laughing on the inside.

'She would faint if she knew about everything else.' Alex thought as a soft smile appeared on his face.

"Let's head off, don't want to be late now do we?" Alex said as he motioned to the door with his head.

"Why are you speaking like that?" Bella asked as she narrowed her eyes and started walking to the front door.

"Speaking like what?" Alex asked confused as he followed her.

It was really fun to write this one though I did it at 4 am and sleep-deprived.

Just remembering everything Alex has done and how far he has gone and how much he has changed, really is quite nice to write about so I hope that translated into a nice reading experience as well.
