Bab 262: Sharp Words of Affection

Surprisingly, Meifeng's letter mostly contained music. She'd written the next verse of their duet. The strokes of her brush were neat and orderly but no matter how much she restrained herself while writing, she couldn't hide the touches of intense feeling in a few of the phrases of the duet.

I wish I was there with you, even in the dangerous moments when you're relieved that I'm not. I'm happy that you've broken through, but I'm sad that it puts even more distance between us. I likely won't be able to catch up to you by the time you return but I promise, I won't be far behind. 

I broke through and became a middle-stage Aesthete the day you left. Since then, I've taken on several small missions for the sect. Small things with little risk to gather information for other sisters to do the dangerous work.
