The Sun was about to set, and darkness had started rolling into the city when, like an atypical emo protagonist, I exited the Emiya residence in a dark frog suit that perfectly masked my age and identity.
Tiamat was in a mini-pocket sewn into the suit's belly so I'd have no problems if a fight broke out.
Like I think I said before, there's certain problems that come with being the age I am and there's nothing I can really do except wait... Around 16 is the age magi start giving even less of a shit than they usually do about kids, as in, they start treating them like 'people' if I have my info straight.
It might have something to do with the fact that it hasn't even been two decades since someone reached the highest rank in the Clock Tower at the age of 21... They'd even started paying attention to no name magi after the current Lord El-Melloi came into his position.
"Cortana, play me some James Bond music."
"Yes, sir."
Shinji Matou hails from the mean and tough streets of Miyama Town, the richest residential district in the whole city... He had to grow up in a mansion. You can't even begin to relate to my suffering.
I expertly slipped through the paved and well-streets of the district and entered a less 'popular' side of the town.
I drew some attention but, with how weird the Japanese typically are, nobody really paid any attention... Oh, what's that? You think they're all orderly and nice? Yeah no, I'm pretty sure I saw a prostitute out on the street when I was going to the mall with Sakura.
"Shinjiii... why are we out in the night?"
Dear Tiamat, never ask a man why he's out at night.
"Obviously, we're gonna get shitfaced."
No, I'm joking.
Such things are beneath a genius the likes of myself.
"Shiiitfuced?"
Damn.
"Nothing, we're gonna get our hands on some stuff I need." I answered briefly and looked around curiously.
Eventually, I spotted a traditional Japanese manse with two men in dark yukata standing at the door with nasty looks on their faces... They're gonna get deposed when I come into power but eh, I guess I'll give them points for intimidation seeing how much everyone is avoiding them.
But guys, don't you think the katana's and baring your chest is a touch too over the top?
I can't really judge since my answer to bugs was a world ending Primordial Goddess but I'll do it anyway.
Amateurs.
I approached them with calm, drawled footsteps, hands at either side and making no sudden movements.
"Huh? Who's this?" One of them asked in a strange tone, leaning down to stare into my eyes... All he got was two beads staring right into his soul.
"It's probably a kid having fun." The other sighed like he was used to dealing with people like me, "No, you can't meet the boss. Shoo."
I take offense to that.
Nobody is like me.
If you haven't connected the dots after seeing the way these two stereotypes are behaving.
These guys are Yakuza.
The Fujimura group operates out of Miyama Town and can get me some of the things I need for my next project... which Cortana can also do, but it would take time and I was curious about how Yakuza are.
Also, everything isn't as digitized as it was in the 2020s so she's not as all-powerful as she would be in an era like that.
After they brushed me off, I, as the calm and reasonable person I am, walked away.
Only to circle around to a spot they couldn't see and scale the wall.
Sue me, there isn't much I can do till I get my hands on some good materials... Well, I will be visiting Europe soon enough to see about messing with Kirei, so that's something. Oh yeah, I'll also visit the Clock Tower just cause I want to.
No people, I don't need to have a cold factual agenda to do something.
Sometimes I just want to do stuff.
I expertly climbed atop the wall and surveyed the compound, it's like one of those documentary homes... like Shirou's now that I think about it. Plus the grumpy looking men walking around and/or messing with each other while drinking and eating.
All in all, a happy place.
It'd be a real shame if someone tossed a bomb in there.
But that someone is not me, I am a kind and benevolent person.
Do you think I have fun making people consider suicide?
Do you?
No?
Well I do, but the main part of it is helping them realise that the world isn't nice and life is a bitch, yes.
So, like a MASTER assassin, I jumped into some bushes and... water trickled onto my headpiece?
Oh what the fuck?
"You have bathrooms! Why the hell would you piss in a bush? No wonder the AI thinks you're monkeys."
"W-What? I just spit! I wouldn't piss in the boss' hom-... w...who the fuck are you supposed to be?"
Oops.
It's fine, nobody would harm a cute shota.
I shrugged and stood up, making him take a step back, startled, "I am the spirit of the bushes. Your disrespectful behaviour has incurred my wrath..." I thought for a bit, "7 Generations of your family shall suffer from poor luck. And when they die, you shall find a frog in their mouths."
What am I even saying?
"B-But ain't that just a costume? And you sound like a kid!" The rando asked with sweat on his brow.
"This is..."
What kind of adults are these people? Why is he buying into it?
His loss, I guess.
"Simply because you mortals can not comprehend my true form, you would go mad and be put down by those you call friends." I patted my stomach, hoping to GOD Tiamat got the message.
She did, thankfully, and crimson light illuminated my form for a second, scaring the shit out of the, quote on quote, 'mafioso'.
He hopped into a dogeza, "I'm sorry! It's all my fault! Don't curse my boss!"
At least he's loyal?
Before I could take it any further though, an aged voice interrupted us, "Young man, I think you've had enough fun. Don't traumatise my subordinate."
At least somebody has common sense.
I looked over to find a short man with greying hair in a greenish yukata with a sleeveless haori the colour of a... tiger? It was patterned like a tiger, that's it.
Also, his eyes were all white.
I shrugged my hands and took off the frog headwear, "Hello, Mister Fujimura."
"Indeed." He scratched his chin with an amused expression on his face, "You're as... 'unique' as Shirou told me you were, Shinji Matou... You should've just told my men who you were and they would have let you in. Call me Raiga, thank you for looking after the boy."
Goddamn, Shirou bro what the hell? How do you have mob connections?
Oh oh wait, right, I remember now.
These are family friends... and Raiga gives Shirou a ton of cash for small jobs because of how much he respected his father.
"My condolences for your family."
"Meh, they had it coming." I shrugged again.
I'm not ashamed of what I did... I'll never confirm I did it but I'll never deny it either.
This is what you call a power play.
The old man looked taken aback for a moment before he sighed, "I suppose... So, what did you want? Come to ask your elderly for some wisdom? Shirou tells me you're running a smuggling business?"
Dear Shirou, you're a fucking traitor.
"No, elderly wisdom is outdated."
Times change fast, people refuse to.
"Hahahaha!"
Bro, stop stroking your chin... you don't have a beard.
"True enough. What can I do for you?"
"I need a wafer track system." I spoke bluntly and the older man gestured to man standing near him with his head, "The latest available. I'll pay you whatever you want."
Huh, that's cool.
But honestly, human subordinates are overrated and not competent enough.
No, that system doesn't make wafers to eat.
It's used for photolithography.
Before you ask what that is, just know that I can personally modify it enough to use it to design a certain something that might as well invalidate my need for magecraft as a whole... I have Cortana for precision.
Something something nano-?
You get it?
No?
Well, you're dumb.
Shame on you.
"Hm, I don't know what that is but very well. It'll be seen to."
What a nice guy, he has no reason to do what I want but does it anyway... I guess money talks.
"Now then, with the business done, let us share a cup of sa-... tea. And we can talk about that empire of yours." Raiga smiled like the old man he was.
I narrowed my eyes suspiciously but went along anyway.
I have a pocket mommy.
They can't do jack.
On that note, isn't she taking me asking her to be completely silent way too seriously?
...Why do I feel like he's about to hit me with a barrage of random questions?

Aight, you can find up to 8 chapters ahead on patre0n.com/Bleap
Well, currently 5 but at the pace I'm writing, shouldn't be long. Also, most of these chapters are almost double the usual size so that might explain why I'm behind.
Chapters on this end up becoming way longer than I intend for them to be.
