Bab 16: 16. Martial Soul Fusion Skill
Inside the carriage:
"Nana, while traveling, we can't waste time. So you must cultivate diligently," Xie Yue instructed her.
Xie Yue knew he and Hu Liena had a Martial soul Fusion skill. The day he awakened his martial soul, he felt a throbbing in his martial soul when he went near Hu Liena. Hu Liena also felt the same. This confirmed their martial soul Fusion skill. He just hadn't had time to practice with her. He can only do that after reaching Heaven Dou City and finding a safe place.
He knew how rare this skill was. It required Spirit Harmonization, and the degree of Spirit Harmonization influenced the final output power of the Spirit Fusion.
Their martial soul Fusion skill was called "Charm Demon," the only humanoid martial soul Fusion skill in the current era. Other martial soul Fusion skills were beast forms or other forms. Examples included Golden Triangle, Serpent Dragon Joint Assault, and Nether White Tiger.
(Note: Fusion ability and martial soul fusion skills were different. The Shrek Seven Monsters' Seven Fusion ability was such an ability. It wasn't a true martial soul Fusion. Although both could improve output power, normal Fusion ability was 1+1=2, while martial soul fusion ability was a divine skill: 1+1= more than 3.)
The higher the spirit harmonization, the higher the output would be. Xie Yue estimated that with his arrival, their spirit harmonization wouldn't be as high as 95%. It would likely be around 85% or so. After all, their martial souls were born compatible and they had the same blood. Even without harmonization, it would still be over 60%. But with Hu Liena's attachment to him, it could be raised to 80% or more. To her, he was everything. In the future, he would increase it further using other means, such as... sex. Hehe. Sex was the shortcut to many things.
Charm Demon's ability was to produce a red fog that obstructed the opponent's vision. The range of the fog could be increased with the soul masters' soul power. Within the fog:

* Spirit Power was suppressed by 50%
* All actions were slowed by 50%
* Even poison attacks were almost ineffective

Thirteen days later_
On this day, they reached the place where the Heaven Duo Imperial Academy was located. HDIA was outside Heaven Duo City. If they went north for another hour, they could reach the Heaven Duo City boundaries.
An hour later, the carriage reached the city gate. The carriage driver wouldn't drive in, as he would have to pay more than the driving cost to the city guards. To enter the city, everyone had to pay 5 gold coins each.
So he dropped them at the gate and left after collecting his money.
Standing at the side of the road, Xie Yue and Hu Liena looked up at the city gate. It was more than ten meters tall and wide, enough for 5 or 6 carriages to pass side by side. There were also two secondary gates on the sides, five meters high and wide. Pedestrians could only pass through the secondary gates. The central gate was tightly closed.
After watching from the sidelines, Xie Yue pulled Hu Liena's hand and left, not in the direction of the city gates but in the direction they came from. He wasn't going to enter the city today.
