Ace locked eyes with Sin, who suddenly began to chuckle sinisterly, his voice echoing through the tense room. Smeargle growled low, its tail glowing faintly as it was prepared to unleash a Thunderbolt and Gust combo at a moment's notice. Tangrowth loomed threateningly, its massive vines curling ominously as if waiting for the command to strike.
Behind Ace, Scyther stood in a protective stance, its blades crossed in front of the professors, who were being helped to their feet by May, Serena, and Dawn. The girls were shaken but determined, their Pokémon standing alert by their sides.
Ace's other Pokémon—Elekid, Nidoran, Clefairy, and Spearow—had surrounded Tangrowth in a square formation.
Sin broke the silence with a mocking grin under his Darkrai mask."You've got guts, I'll give you that," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "But tell me, boy, do you even know who you're dealing with?"
Ace remained calm, his expression unreadable, but internally, his thoughts were racing. 'This guy's no joke. That Tangrowth alone shows he's experienced and dangerous.' Outwardly, though, he maintained his composure.
"I don't care who you are," Ace replied firmly, his voice steady. "What I care about is making sure you don't harm anyone here."
For a moment, Sin said nothing, his grin frozen under his mask. Then, to everyone's shock, he burst into laughter—a chilling, unhinged sound that sent shivers down their spines. Even the Pokémon flinched at the sinister tone.
Suddenly, Sin stopped, his dark eyes narrowing behind his mask. "I like your confidence, kid," he said coldly. "But confidence without power? That's just arrogance."
Before anyone could react, Sin snapped his fingers. "Tangrowth, NOW!"
Tangrowth's vines shot out like whips, aiming to ensnare everyone in the room. Smeargle darted forward, its tail glowing as it slashed through the vines with a precise Slash attack.
"Elekid, back him up!" Ace barked.
Elekid charged in, its fists crackling with electricity. With a powerful Dynamic Punch, it struck Tangrowth, sending the massive Pokémon stumbling backward.
"Smeargle, Quick Attack!" Ace commanded.
Smeargle blurred forward, ramming into Tangrowth with incredible force. Elekid followed up with another Dynamic Punch, both Pokemon driving the vine-covered Pokémon out the broken window and into the open yard.
Sin leaped back gracefully, avoiding the chaos. But his moment of escape was short-lived as a metal staff swished through the air, narrowly missing his head. He turned to see Ace, now holding a sleek retractable bo staff, its ends glinting under the light.
Sin's eyes gleamed with interest. "A bo staff? Didn't expect you to be the type for close combat," he mused.
Ace twirled the staff expertly, his stance unyielding. "I'm not your average trainer," he retorted.
As Ace faced Sin, memories of his previous life flashed through his mind. 'I trained for years in hand-to-hand combat,' he thought. 'It was part of my dream to join the military or police academy. I even learned to wield the bo staff and Gun shooting because I wanted to be prepared for every situation. And now... here I am, using those skills in a world of Pokémon.'
Ace's grip on the staff tightened as he stared down Sin. 'I never thought I'd end up here. But if my training from my old life can protect people in this world, then it's worth it.'
Sin's grin widened. "Clearly, you've got some skills. But let's see if they're enough to stop me."
Ace glanced back at the girls and the professors. "Stay here," he instructed, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Call Officer Jenny and get backup. Scyther, protect them."
Scyther clicked its blades together in acknowledgment, stepping in front of the group like a sentry.
"Smeargle, Elekid—take Tangrowth outside!" Ace shouted, vaulting through the broken window.
Outside, Tangrowth flailed its massive vines glowing with his vines covered in poison type energy, trying to land a hit on Smeargle and Elekid with poison jab. The two Pokémon worked in perfect sync, dodging and countering every strike with Slash/Dynamic punch.
Sin landed in the yard with a predatory grin under his mask, his hand moving to his back. From a hidden sheath, he drew a sleek katana, its blade gleaming ominously.
Ace studied his opponent carefully, his body tense but ready. 'This guy isn't just a nobod—he knows what he's doing. I wonder why he wasn't shown in the anime, but those things come later. Now, I need to end this quickly, before anyone gets seriously hurt due to him.'
Sin pointed his katana at Ace. "You're interesting, kid. But let's see if you're as tough as you act."
Ace stepped forward, spinning his staff in a fluid motion. "I've faced worse than you," he replied, though inwardly, he thought, 'Definately not, but I'm not about to let him see that.'
Sin chuckled, then sent out a shadowy Sableye. The Ghost/Dark Pokémon cackled menacingly as it appeared, its gem-like eyes gleaming with malevolence.
Ace quickly assessed the situation. "Spearow, Clefairy, Nidoran—handle that Sableye! Keep it off me!"
The trio of Pokémon sprang into action, charging towards the spectral foe who conjured a Shadow ball. Meanwhile, Ace took a deep breath, twirling his staff once more.
"This is your last chance to walk away," Ace said, his voice calm but firm.
Sin's grin turned feral. "Oh, kid, I don't walk away." he said, raising his katana. "I make people not able to walk away."
The two clashed, the bo staff meeting the katana with a resounding clang. Sparks flew as the weapons collided, marking the beginning of a fierce and dangerous battle.
