Bab 13: BURNED LIKE A SIN
"Come to Eve street, your brother had an accident," the man said again curtly.
"What?" Hope blinked her eyes in confusion, as the realization dawn on her. "What happened to him?"
"It's hard to explain it through the phone, you need to come."

And the call ended.
"What happened, Hope?" Samantha looked worried because it didn't seem like good news.
"I need to go, Daniel had an accident." That was the only explanation that Hope could give her before she rushed out toward the exit door.
She felt this was weird, but her panic and worried pushed that strange feeling down.
What important now was her brother. She would find out what happened, once she was there.
Hastily, Hope called a taxi and then jumped into it.
"Eve Street, please hurry!"

'I have never been in Eve street before.' Hope looked around the street.
This place was one hour drive away from the mall she was in, but this was not like what Hope thought.
'There is no accident here, or anything alike, and moreover, what Daniel was doing here?'
This was a slump area, like a refugee place. There were many children roamed around, looking dirty and with scary eyes that fixed on her.
'Why they are looking at me like that?' Hope shuddered involuntarily, because their eyes were so sharp, they gleamed in the dark, like wolves… or maybe this was only her hallucination?
This area was so dim and unkempt, bad smell in the air and the atmosphere felt so heavy.
Hope couldn't find Daniel here, let alone to find him, there was no trace of something big happened here, since the caller told her there was an accident.
"What is this?" Hope muttered under her breath, she then stopped at an empty alleyway, because she wanted to avoid those strange eyes that stared at her fiercely.
She pulled out her phone from her bag and started to call the mysterious caller, who had told her about Daniel, but there was no one picked up her call.
"What? This is weird." Hope felt her heart thumped wildly. She sensed something wrong with the whole situation and the first though that came to her mind was; she was being tricked.
'Is this a bad prank?'
She was not sure.
Once again, she tried to call the number, but now it was out of service, which made the furrow between her brows deepened.
"Can I ask something?" Hope stopped a young man when he walked past the alleyway where she was standing.
The man tilted his head, he looked emotionless, which was scary for Hope.
"Do you know if there was an accident around here?" she asked in timid voice, feeling a little bit intimidating by those eyes.
"No."
The answer was curt and cold.
"By any chance, do you know a man named Daniel?"
"No."
That toneless voice was terrifying, thus Hope immediately thanked him and apologized for the interruption. She wanted to send that man away as soon as possible. He was scary.
"Where are you, Daniel?" Hope felt really frustrated with this current situation. Her peaceful life was at turmoil nowadays, since she learned that she was the mate of alpha Lucien. "Where should I find you?" Hope rubbed her face roughly.
After lamented about it for a while, Hope lifted her head and found out that all the eyes were on her. if before they stared at her furtively, but right now they were bluntly looking toward her direction.
Afraid, Hope hastened her walked, she was half running at this point, but before she could go out to the main street, leaving this slump area and these weird people, someone gripped her wrist and pulled her back.
"Argh!" Hope screamed, she was struggling to get away from her attacker. She wanted to scream for help, but someone covered her mouth and held her steadily.
It didn't take long before she felt so dizzy and her vision turned black, as her body relax and she dropped to her attacker's arms.

Hope felt her head was hurt and when she opened her eyes, the room was spinning.
'Where am I?'
The room was small and smelled so bad, but that was the last thing that she had to worry about, because right now she couldn't move her arms, they felt very hurt.
Only then she realized that she was being tied to the pillar and remembered what happened before this.
'Who are those people?'
Hope tried to pull her arms, but she couldn't move an inch. She was sitting on the cold ground, with both of her arms tied behind her back against the pillar.
Aside from her, there was no one in this small room, which only occupied by a few boxes at the other corner and a flickering light above her head. It seemed this place was used as a storage room.
From outside, Hope heard a faint commotion and few people were talking, a woman and a man, who was growling in anger.
Out of fear, Hope closed her eyes again and listened to their conversation.
"How this could happen?! I told you that I want her first!" an angry growl came out from a man, which made Hope shuddered in fear.
"I am sorry, but there is nothing we can do at this point," the woman spoke in meek voice, from the sound of it, Hope could imagine she was trembling in fear.
"You are sorry?!" the man roared. "What is your sorry for?! Your sorry doesn't help with this situation!"
There was a harsh slapping sound and a shriek from a woman. It was hard for Hope not to cry out of fear. What kind of people they were?
"She has been marked by that bastard Lucien and now she was pregnant with that imbecile's seed! What you will do now?!" There was a loud sound of something was being punched. "That bastard Lucien fucked her!"
Hope's heart thumped wildly when she heard that.
