With that, Kevin made his way to Mei's lab, his thoughts a tangled web of truths and half-truths.
As he entered, he was immediately greeted by an excited Mobius, who practically pounced on him with questions. "What was that about being created by the Honkai?" she asked, her eyes gleaming with curiosity and a hint of suspicion.
Mei, who was standing nearby, also looked at Kevin with a mixture of concern and need for answers. Though she didn't say anything, Kevin could tell by her expression that she was just as eager to know the truth.
Kevin then glanced at Elysia, who merely shook her head with a slight, apologetic smile. Her gesture was clear: *I can't help you this time.*
Realizing that there was no easy way out of this, Kevin took a deep breath and decided to share a version of the truth. "Well, let's just say... I was supposed to be a Herrscher," Kevin replied, his voice steady, though he knew the implications of his words would be anything but.
Mei's eyes widened in shock, the weight of his revelation sinking in. But Mobius, ever the astute scientist, merely nodded, as if she had already guessed as much.
"I thought it might be something like that," Mobius said, her tone laced with both satisfaction and curiosity. "But there's more to it, isn't there?"
Mei, still processing what Kevin had just said, took a moment before asking the question that was clearly troubling her. "Why... why can you maintain your personality while others who become Herrschers can't?"
Kevin met her gaze, understanding the depth of her concern. "That's because I cut my connection with the Imaginary Tree," he explained. "By severing that link, I'm free from its influence."
Both Mei and Mobius exchanged a look of realization, the pieces of the puzzle beginning to fit together in their minds. But before they could fully grasp the implications, Kevin continued, dropping another bombshell.
"You could say I'm free... thanks to Elysia here, another abnormality in her own right," Kevin added, his tone light but his words heavy with meaning.
Elysia's eyes widened in surprise, and she quickly pointed at herself. "Me? Abnormal?" she exclaimed, shaking her head in playful denial. "No, no, no! I'm perfectly normal!"
Mei and Mobius, however, weren't so easily swayed. They looked at both Kevin and Elysia, clearly skeptical but also intrigued by the new information.
Mobius, never one to let go of a line of questioning, pressed on. "Then what was that about the blue-haired one saying you're like Kiana?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
Mei held up a hand, stopping her. "Hold on. You didn't answer My previous question," she pointed out, deflecting the conversation back to a more pressing matter. "How is Elysia able to be free you from the Honkai Tree's control?"
Mobius also wang this asnwer and he looked from Kevin to Elysia. "Yes, that's what I want to know too," she said, her voice firm but filled with little curiosity.
Kevin sighed, knowing this part of the story was more complex than the rest. "About that... even I'm not entirely sure but bronya and i conduct some research on it," he admitted. "As for Mei, Cana should be the one to explain it better."
Mei's brow furrowed at this, her concern deepening. "Cana? The blue-haired one?" she asked, trying to make sense of everything.
Kevin nodded. "She has a better understanding of the situation, given her own connection to the Honkai."
Mobius, however, was not satisfied with that answer. "But you must have some idea, Kevin," she insisted, her analytical mind unwilling to let the matter rest. "What makes Elysia so different?"
Kevin looked at Elysia, who gave him an encouraging nod.
Come with me and we'll talk in my room. Kevin said and they went towards his new room.
