As the morning light filtered into the room, Kevin felt a soft weight on his chest. Mei, still nestled against him, let out a low moan, her eyes slowly fluttering open. She winced slightly, touching her forehead. "My head...," she murmured, feeling the aftereffects of the night before. Her lower lip twitched, a small sign of discomfort and pleasure.
Blinking, she looked around, confused. "Why did my bed become so hard?" she mumbled, her voice still thick with sleep.
"Morning, Mei-chan," Kevin greeted softly, his voice full of warmth. The gentle tone sent a wave of happiness through Mei's heart.
"Mei-chan?" Mei repeated, turning her head and finally noticing Kevin lying beside her in bed. The events of the previous night began to come back to her, from the bar to their intimate moments, her childlike behavior.
Her cheeks flushed a deep red as the memories flooded her mind.
She stammered, "Kevin... I... I..." Her voice was shaky, a mix of embarrassment and shyness.
Seeing her flustered state, Kevin offered her a reassuring smile. He reached out to gently pet her head, his touch tender. "Mei, I love you," he said, his voice steady and sincere. Leaning in, he kissed her softly on the lips.
Mei's eyes widened slightly, then softened as she felt the love in his kiss. Her messy thoughts began to clear, replaced by a warm sense of security. "I love you too," she whispered back, feeling her worries melt away with each tender touch.
After sharing a few more quiet moments.
They headed to the bathroom to freshen up, and afterward, Mei cooked breakfast for them.
He felt a pang of guilt watching her walk awkwardly, knowing it was because of their intimacy.
Kevin found it heartwarming how Mei, prepared a delicious meal.
As they sat down to eat, Kevin couldn't help but feel a pang of concern. "Are you okay?" he asked, seeing her wince slightly as she sat.
Mei smiled at him, trying to brush it off. "I'm fine," she replied, though her movements were still a bit stiff.
Once they finished breakfast, they prepared to head to the lab.
Mei leaned on Kevin for support, walking with a slight awkwardness due to the previous night's exertions.
" Should I heal her now ". Kevin thought, but he enjoyed having Mei reliant on him.
So, he decided to wait until they reached her office to use his healing abilities.
As they entered their workplace, they ran into Elysia, whose eyes sparkled with mischief as she took in Mei's radiant face and awkward walking.
"Well, well, well," she teased, grinning widely. "How was your first night, Mei-chan? You can barely walk straight!" She laughed, clearly relishing Mei's embarrassment.
Mei blushed furiously, attempting to conceal her face in Kevin's shoulder. "Elysia, stop," she muttered, feeling utterly mortified.
Elysia was already in the loop about Kevin and Mei's night together, thanks to Kevin's earlier call about Mei having one too many drinks." Therfore elysia was read to confront Mei.
Kevin chuckled softly, giving Mei a supportive squeeze. He then used his healing abilities to ease her discomfort, a soft, soothing glow emanating from his hand as he worked.
Mei felt instant relief and looked up at him, her eyes narrowing playfully. "If you could heal me, why didn't you do it earlier?" she scolded kevin.
Kevin scratched the back of his head, a sheepish smile on his face, but looked away when Mei glared at him.
Why do I feel fear from Mei? Kevin wondered.
Elysia giggled, enjoying the banter. "You two don't fight here," she said, her teasing tone softening. "But really, Kevin, next time don't let Mei suffer."
With that, they all headed into the lab, ready to tackle the day's work.
As they entered Mobius's lab, the air was thick with anticipation. Mobius immediately noticed something different about Mei. Her face held a soft glow, and her demeanor was unusually cheerful.
Mobius smirked, raising an eyebrow. "Looks like someone had a good night," she teased, her tone laced with insinuation. Mei's cheeks flushed pink, but she didn't deny it.
"We have more important things to discuss," Kevin interjected, steering the conversation back to business.
"I saw The blueprints for the first Divine Key, using the core of the 3rd Herrscher. Have you made the adjustments, Mei?" Mobius asked.
Mei nodded, regaining her composure. "Yes, everything is ready. The modifications are complete."
They proceeded to a secure location, as Kevin had suggested, prioritizing safety.
Mobius had already prepared the testing grounds with insulating materials to contain any unexpected outcomes. As they set up, Mobius couldn't help but muse aloud, "This guy has been fighting massive templars and chariots with mass-produced melee weapons. What on Earth will he do with a Herrscher core?"
Elysia, equipped with a camera, was eager to capture every moment. "This is going to be exciting," she murmured, her eyes glinting with anticipation.
Kevin stood at the center of the grounds, surrounded by various materials: Mithril, QUAD, Ether Crystals, and Soulium. He extended his hands, channeling the power of Reason.
Blue light emanated from his fingertips as the materials began to meld together. Mobius and Mei watched in awe as the elements fused seamlessly, forming a katana with a glowing black blade.
Mobius's jaw dropped. "What ability did you use?" she asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.
"The power of Reason," Kevin replied calmly. "It's matter manipulation."
Mobius's eyes widened with intrigue. "Can I use reason powers ?" she asked, her scientific curiosity piqued.
Kevin nodded. "Of course. Mei used it yesterday to complete some complex coding and commands in just a few hours."
Mobius shot a questioning look at Mei, who chuckled nervously. "I... might have forgotten to mention it," Mei admitted.
Kevin then produced the gem of the 3rd Herrscher. With careful precision, he embedded it into the katana, using the authority of Reason to integrate the core. As the process neared completion, a surge of purple lightning crackled around the weapon, engulfing the area.
Elysia's eyes widened in alarm. "Kevin! Are you okay?" she shouted, her voice tinged with panic.
Mobius echoed her concern. "Lab rat! What's happening?"
Kevin grunted, maintaining his focus. "I'm fine, just... lost control for a moment." As the lightning subsided, the katana glowed with a purplish-black aura.
Eager to test its power, Kevin swung the sword lightly. To his astonishment, a bolt of lightning shot forth, carving a destructive path for 200 meters. The ground was scorched black, molten iron pooled at the impact site, and nearby equipment was obliterated. The sheer power of the attack had caused extensive damage.
Mobius and Mei screamed in unison, clutching each other in fright.
"Kyaaah! Are you trying to kill us, you bastard?" Mobius yelled, her voice a mix of anger and fear.
Mei, equally shaken, added, "Kevin, don't use this weapon so carelessly again!"
Kevin looked at the devastation he had inadvertently caused. The testing ground was now a wasteland of charred remnants and melted metal. He turned back to the group, an apologetic look on his face. "I'll be more careful next time. The power is... more than I anticipated."
Elysia lowered her camera, still in shock. "That was... intense," she breathed, shaking her head in disbelief. "But also kind of amazing."
Mobius crossed her arms, still glaring at Kevin. "Amazing or not, we need to ensure we're not obliterated in the process. This is not something to be taken lightly."
Kevin nodded, feeling the weight of responsibility. "Agreed. I'll make sure to control it better. This was just a test, after all."
As they regrouped, the gravity of Kevin's new weapon's potential became clear. The experiment had not only demonstrated the incredible power of the Herrscher core but also underscored the need for caution and control.
They returned to mobius lab for other stuff.
