The battle had reached a critical point. The loss of her Honkai beast had triggered a terrifying transformation in the Herrscher of Wind.
Kevin watched in alarm as a surge of raw Honkai energy erupted from the girl, her form twisting and reshaping in the air.
Her consciousness seemed to flicker, overtaken by the overwhelming power she commanded. In an instant, she was no longer the same person—her power had skyrocketed, and her presence felt like a force of nature itself.
Kevin immediately sensed the danger. "This isn't good," he thought, feeling the oppressive energy radiating from the evolving Herrscher. "If she completes this transformation, she'll become even more dangerous."
Reacting swiftly, Kevin summoned a storm of flame, aiming to disrupt the process. A torrent of fire cascaded towards the Herrscher, but as it approached, a formidable wind shield materialized around her.
The flames met the barrier with a fierce explosion, but they couldn't penetrate through. The transformation completed with a blinding flash, and the newly transformed Herrscher of Wind emerged, hovering above the battlefield.
She now wore a dazzling white dress that sparkled against the backdrop of the devastation. Her eyes glowed with a fierce green light, and an aura of immense power surrounded her. A notification appeared in Kevin's vision:

The winds grew fiercer, tearing through the landscape. Several smaller tornadoes spawned, their swirling fury devastating the surroundings.
Buildings crumbled under the force, debris flying in every direction. Kevin leaped and dodged, narrowly avoiding the destructive paths of the tornadoes. "Damn it," he cursed under his breath. "I have to deal with these tornadoes before I can get to her."
As Kevin tried to navigate the chaotic winds, the Herrscher prepared her next assault. A concentrated beam of green energy, faster than lightning, shot towards him.
The air around the beam distorted with sheer force, making it nearly impossible to track. Kevin's reflexes kicked in, but he wasn't quick enough to completely dodge the attack. The beam struck him, blasting away part of his armor and leaving a gaping wound on his chest.
He gritted his teeth against the pain, feeling the sting of the injury. "I can't let this slow me down," he thought, pushing himself to stay alert.
The ground beneath him was scarred and pocked with craters from the ongoing destruction. The wind howled around him, carrying the screams of those caught in the chaos.
Before Kevin could catch his breath, a rain of sharp wind blades descended upon him. He rolled and dodged, his movements desperate and erratic.
Each blade that missed him left a deep cut in the ground.
Kevin's energy reserves were depleting rapidly; he was down to 30%. "I can't keep this up much longer," he thought, his breath ragged.
Kevin knew he needed a plan. The Herrscher was airborne, protected by a massive green tornado acting as a formidable defense mechanism.
His mind raced. "I need to find a way to pierce that defense," he strategized. Desperation creeping into his voice, he muttered, "If I can get above that tornado, I might have a shot."
His thoughts were interrupted as another concentrated beam came hurtling towards him.
The beam again struck him, and a searing pain coursed through his body. He felt the wind get knocked out of him as he was thrown back, crashing into the rubble of a destroyed building. Blood flowed from his mouth and fell on his chest, staining his clothes.
Gritting his teeth, Kevin forced himself to stand. His healing abilities were kicking in, but they were slow, and his energy was running low.
He stumbled towards the remains of the Honkai beast, tearing a piece of its flesh and putting it into the system. A notification flashed:

The surge of power from the system gave him a brief moment of clarity. "I have to make this count," he thought, feeling the boost in his abilities.
To take height as advantage, he harnessed the elements of lightning and wind, turning himself into a streak of energy. He aimed to get above the Herrscher, using the height to his advantage.
As he ascended, a small green light shot towards him. Kevin's eyes widened in realization—it was a compressed wind blade, a technique he recognized from his own arsenal.
The Herrscher had learned from their earlier exchanges. The blades hit him, tearing through his defenses and leaving deep gashes. Blood dripped from his wounds, his vision blurring from the loss of blood.
"Focus," Kevin told himself, biting his tongue to stay conscious. "I can't fall here." Gathering every last bit of his strength, he unleashed a massive thunderfire storm, aiming directly at the eye of the tornado.
The attack was a furious mix of fire and lightning, swirling together in a violent dance. It struck the tornado, causing a massive explosion. The Herrscher was engulfed in the storm, her figure obscured by the blinding light and roaring flames.
As the storm dissipated, Kevin's strength finally gave out. He fell to the ground, barely conscious. With great effort, he reached into the system and pulled out a healing pill.
The pill healed his wounds by 40%, but his energy reserves were completely drained. He struggled to his feet, his body trembling from exhaustion.
Dragging himself across the battlefield, he reached the unconscious Herrscher. Her once-proud form was charred and broken, her power diminished.
Kevin pluck the glowing gem embedded inside her chest, the core of her power. Thus completely killing her.
With a final, exhausted effort, he reached out and took the gem, placing it into the system.
**Congratulations, Host, for defeating a Herrscher for the first time.** The notification flashed before his eyes, but Kevin could barely register it. His vision darkened, and he collapsed, the strain of the battle finally taking its toll.
As he lay there, on the brink of unconsciousness, Kevin's last thoughts were of the destruction around him.
The city lay in ruins, the once-bustling streets now silent.
