Eveline needed some time to recover from her shock when she felt the dampness of his tears on her skin.

'Was he crying?' she inquired, straining her head, but she couldn't see it.

Eveline was astounded when she felt his shoulder move, and she realized Gabriel was indeed sobbing.

Something inside her moved, and her hands quickly moved to embrace him in a hug.

This was the first time she'd seen Gabriel so vulnerable that he cried and begged her to accept him.

Eveline took a hesitant breath, feeling the burn of her tears as they moistened her eyes with each second.

Despite her repeated refusal to care for him, he would do something that made her doubt herself.

When he pleaded her, she couldn't help but feel pain. It was not something she expected to hear in her lifetime. But she did, which was somewhat surprising.
