Bab 16: Chapter 16 Why Her?
Emily remained in her room throughout the day because she had nowhere else to go. After her initial treatment at the hospital, Emily could distinctly feel the effects of the treatment. Her throat was hoarse and sore, but she felt much more at ease now. The change gave Emily hope for the future.
The escape plan was only temporarily postponed, not abandoned. Emily knew exactly what it would be like for her to be alone in the North, and she had to prepare herself for a way out.
She was relieved that Klaus had not succeeded in marking her, because otherwise he would have been able to track her scent wherever she went.
Emily attributed everything to the moon-god's kindness towards her, and when the moon rose, she also silently prayed to the moon-god that he would allow her wolf to return to her.
After dinner, following Dr. Stephen's advice, Emily began to make an effort to keep a journal, in which she recorded all the emotions of the past few days.
When she had finished, she looked at the clock on the wall. It was now midnight, and her nominal husband was not expected to return. After all, he had not come home the previous night, and if he did not come home every day, Emily would be left alone in that comfortable bed.
So, Emily undressed, threw her clothes on the couch, and went straight to the bathroom to get ready for a shower.

Klaus, after returning to the hotel, walked straight across the garden to his room in the villa section. However, he stopped short as he stood outside the door of his room. His hand clutched the metal doorknob, but he did not turn it.
Klaus stared at the door, his mind full of doubt and perplexity. He couldn't help but ask himself, "What the hell is wrong with me?"
He could not understand why he was so nervous, and he felt a little overwhelmed by the woman's presence. He thought back to the old days, when there had been many women around him, but none had ever tugged at his heartstrings as she did.
Since the death of his mate, he had thought that his heart was closed off to any woman. Now, however, he found himself developing a peculiar affection for her.
Klaus was torn between distancing himself from her or becoming closer to her.
At this moment, Klaus's wolf said to him, "Follow your heart, Klaus. Do what you want." This remark gave him a little relief, as if he had found a direction to guide him.
Klaus gently turned the knob, and the door slowly opened. He entered the room in silence, his steps light and cautious, as if he feared disturbing the peace of the room. He looked around and saw that Emily was not in the sitting room. Yet the sound of the water flowing from the bath was clear and pleasant, like the murmur of a stream.
Klaus walked over to the table, where he saw a marked map and a few drawings. So he picked up a random drawing and looked at it. I must say that Emily's talent for drawing was really poor, and he could not understand what she was trying to depict at all.
One drawing appeared to depict a dog with a simple smiling face next to it.
"Does she like dogs?"
Klaus put the picture back on the table, and as he picked up the map to examine the markings, an open journal lay pressed against it.
"The diary is open, so it shouldn't be a problem to take a peek." Klaus excused himself mentally and peeked into her diary.
He glanced in the direction of the bathroom and, before he was sure that Emily would not come out at once, he picked up the journal on the table.
On the 365th day, one day had passed since the end of the contract. Why does the contract have to be for a year instead of a month?
Today's treatment has made me feel much more comfortable. Dr. Stephen told me that if I kept up the treatment, my throat would go back to normal. I'm sure he wouldn't lie to me.
I had nothing to do and spent the day in my room. Marx bought me what I needed, and tomorrow I want him to bring me a tablet so I can pass the time online.
Also, thanks to the dog in my dream.
"That's all?" Klaus flipped through the pages of the journal, but he saw no more writing.
Her diary mentions Dr. Stephen, Marx, and even the dog, but there is no mention of him.
It sent a wave of loss and discontent through him. He tried to control his emotions, but the turmoil within was hard to quell. He was deep in thought when he suddenly felt an itch in the corner of his eye. The sensation made him a little uncomfortable, so he took off his sunglasses and gently rubbed the itchy spot with his hand.
Suddenly, there was a sound like breaking glass in the bathroom. Klaus immediately put down the journal in his hand, and his eyes grew tense in an instant. Without hesitation, he quickly moved towards the bathroom.
When he pushed open the bathroom door, he was relieved by what he saw. It turned out to be a glass vase that had accidentally fallen off a shelf and hit the floor in front of the mirror.
"Emily."
Klaus saw Emily standing behind the clear glass partition, naked and surrounded by mist. Her wet hair fell over her shoulders, her round, firm breasts were white with foam, and the hot water ran down the curves of her body to her heels.
She looked at Klaus, her lips slightly parted, her eyes startled.
In the intimate space of the bathroom, there was no noise except for the murmur of running water. The eyes of the two were locked, and it seemed as if time had frozen at that moment. A white mist rose from the hot water and slowly spread between them.
The heat struck Klaus in the face, and a flame of desire burned within him. He could now feel an erection in the lower part of his body from the excitement.
His hand passed through the mist and came close to her.
