While Swayam was searching the city for Leonard Snart and his partner, he received a call from Barry, who informed him that Caitlin was missing. Her car had been found completely frozen in the parking lot where they had met Jason for information about Ronnie. Barry explained that a witness saw two people carrying a woman away after firing some sort of gun at her car, which froze it. The bystanders had called the cops, who, after inspecting the scene and noticing similarities to the customs warehouse incident, handed the case to the higher-ups.
Once the CCPD took over the case, they reviewed the parking lot surveillance footage and identified Leonard Snart and Mick Rory, a known pyromaniac, as the culprits.
Barry, knowing Swayam's nature, was concerned. Swayam was generally calm and avoided causing trouble, but if someone harmed his loved ones, another side of him took over—a side driven by primal emotions. Barry could feel the shift in Swayam's demeanor over the phone. Though Swayam wasn't speaking, his silence was dangerous, far more than words.
Just as Barry was about to hang up, Cisco, who had been watching the news, joined the call. He informed them that Snart had hacked all the news channels and was broadcasting live, demanding that The Flash and Shadow make a public appearance that night at Porter and Maine. If they didn't, Snart threatened to kill Caitlin, who was shown unconscious and tied to a chair.
Hearing this, Swayam's anger reached its peak, and he crushed his phone in his hand. Yet, despite his fury, he didn't act rashly. His pathokinetic ability activated, calming his emotions and making him think clearly.
Had his emotions not stabilized, Swayam would have used every ability in his arsenal to track down Snart and Rory, regardless of the consequences. However, with his mind clear, he remembered that Caitlin, due to his involvement and early awakening of her powers, wasn't as vulnerable as she had been in the original timeline of The Flash TV show. Still, the timeline had already deviated unpredictably, and he wasn't about to take any chances when it came to the life of a loved one.
Swayam decided to use a more subtle approach. He created an ant-sized clone of himself, over which he had complete control. The clone was merely an empty husk, entirely dependent on Swayam's direction. Initially, he struggled to control both his own body and the clone simultaneously, but his adaptive evolution ability kicked in, allowing him to multitask effectively.
Now able to control the ant-sized clone perfectly, the next challenge was figuring out how to find Caitlin. He recalled hearing Cisco, right before he crushed his phone, mention that he might have tracked down where Snart was holding Caitlin.
Swayam considered going back to S.T.A.R. Labs to confirm Caitlin's location with Cisco, but he refrained for two reasons. First, everyone at S.T.A.R. Labs, including Barry, believed he was a ticking time bomb, ready to explode and kill Snart in a fit of rage. Second, Swayam wanted to maintain the illusion—especially for Eobard Thawne—that he was easily provoked and would lose control when it came to his loved ones. This wasn't entirely false, but it served his purpose to keep Eobard in the dark about his true nature.
Knowing that Cisco had placed a tracker in his superhero suit, which Eobard monitored constantly, Swayam made a show of searching the city, appearing desperate and enraged. Meanwhile, his ant-sized clone used almost all of his abilities to sneak into S.T.A.R. Labs unnoticed and followed Cisco and Joe to the location where Caitlin was being held hostage.
While his clone shadowed Cisco and Joe, Swayam himself headed to the location Snart had specified for his and Barry's public showdown in their superhero personas.
