"Dad… Leukemia? But… how? Since when?" Asher stuttered in trepidation. He noticed how pale his father looked, but always attributed it to the stress he had to go through daily.

Amara, on the other hand, could only tremble beside her father, finally understanding why he had been going through many health issues lately. Anytime she asked about the diagnosis, her father would conveniently say it was just the stress. 

Caleb Bowman even hid his drugs, but she never felt suspicious whenever she was around him. Who would have thought he was slowly slipping away from their hands, yet they didn't know?

The news of his ailment devastated his two kids, and the man in question was also dumbfounded when Iris mentioned what was wrong with him in one breath. It came as a huge shock, and he wanted to ask how she found out, but Caleb Bowman felt that it would only prolong matters and make them drag the issue unnecessarily.
