Chapter: 14
"Hello, Elena."
"Brother, how are you?"
"I'm alright. Why are you calling me?"
"I need a favor."
"Of course you do. What is it?"
"I need you to watch Sky for me."
"Why? What happened?"
"Some anomalous lizard destroyed a portion of my house while Sky and I were away on vacation."
"Lizard…? Oh, SCP-682. Let me guess, you can't fix your house yourself because Foundation members are in the area."
"Yeah."
"That makes sense. Sure, you can send Sky here. It's been a while since I've seen my niece. When will you get here?"
"The 10th of February, and we'll be staying until the 20th."
"Okay, see you then."
Adrian hung up the phone and walked out of the training room, his mind buzzing with thoughts. As he strolled into the living room, arms crossed in deep thought, Shub-Niggurath noticed him and asked, "Is there something the matter, Lord Adrian?"
"Hmm? No, I was just wondering what to do when my sister drops off Sky."
"Lady Elena is coming?"
"Yeah, on the 10th. What to do."
Shub-Niggurath smiled softly. "Perhaps we should plan some activities for Sky. It would be nice for her and Sigurrós to bond."
"I have no problem with that."
The days passed quickly, and soon enough, the 10th of February arrived. Adrian stood by the front door, waiting for his sister and niece. The air was crisp, and the sun shone brightly, casting a warm glow over the landscape.
A sleek, black car pulled up to the driveway. Elena stepped out, her eyes scanning the area before she smiled and waved. "Adrian!"
"Hey, sis," Adrian greeted, walking over to help her with the bags. Sky, a cheerful and energetic twelve-year-old, bounded out of the car, her eyes wide with excitement.
"Hello, problem child. How are you?"
Sky grinned, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I'm great, Uncle Adrian! I missed you!"
Adrian chuckled, ruffling her hair. "Missed you too, brat. Let's get you settled in."
As they walked toward the house, Sigurrós peeked out from behind the door, her curiosity getting the better of her. "Is that Sky?" she asked, her voice tinged with excitement.
"Yes, it is," Adrian replied, smiling. "Sigurrós, this is your cousin Sky. Sky, this is Sigurrós."
Sky's eyes lit up, and she ran over to Sigurrós. "Hi, Sigurrós! It's so nice to meet you!"
Sigurrós smiled shyly. "Hi, Sky. Nice to meet you too."
Elena walked up to Adrian and stood next to him. "So brother, was dismantling Assault Team Void necessary?"
"Yeah, well not all of them are dead, isn't that right, Camile?"
Camile appeared behind them, dressed in a maid outfit, her once green eyes now a deep purple. "Yes, master."
Elena raised an eyebrow at Camile. "That aura... she's a Fallen? Was that your doing?"
"Yeah."
"When did you do that?"
"Well..."
Flashback
Adrian walked into the training room and changed it to a jail cell. He stared into the cell and saw Camile on the ground, passed out with four pairs of black wings sprouting from her back and a black halo hovering above her head.
As she regained consciousness, Adrian leaned against the bars, his expression amused. "How do you feel?"
Camile groaned, her body aching from the transformation. "What did you do to me?"
Adrian watched with a faint smile as Camile struggled to her feet, her new wings heavy on her back. "You're a Fallen now," he said, his tone calm but with an edge of satisfaction.
Camile's eyes widened as she felt the halo above her head. "Why? Why did you do this?"
"Did I not say that I was going to make you stronger?"
End of Flashback
Elena shook her head. "You always had a strange way of showing kindness, Adrian."
Adrian smirked. "It gets results."
Elena sighed but didn't press further. "Well, I trust you know what you're doing."
Adrian nodded. "Come on, let's get inside. We have a lot to catch up on."
As they walked into the house, Sigurrós and Sky were already chatting excitedly, their voices filling the space with a lively energy. Shub-Niggurath watched them with a serene smile.
Later that evening, after everyone had settled in, the family gathered in the living room. Elena and Adrian sat together, reminiscing about old times while Sky and Sigurrós played with their toys nearby.
"So, sis, you still training, Goddess of Chaos?"
"I can ask the same about you, Outer God of Oblivion."
"Let's find out, shall we?"
"You read my mind."
"Hey, girls, wanna see us spar?" Adrian asked.
Sky and Sigurrós looked up, their eyes wide with excitement. "Yes!" they chorused.
"Alright, to the training room."
