Bab 54: Chapter fifty four
Arias pov
" You want to argue that you are just friends and nothing else. Yes you are friends but not just friends okay, you two are more than friends. Is it all friends that would risk their career to help you?, or is it all guy friends that can love and care for your child like theirs"
" Is it all friends that would blindly help you seek vengeance. You need to open your eyes and see the truth. You have also started falling in love with him, you are just too silly to realize it. I agree totally that s guy and a lady can be just friends, but sometimes we don't know when or how those friendships evolve into love" Kendall said and my heart knew full well it's true but my head argues.
I shut down my brain and followed my heart. " Okay then, what do you suggest I do now? " I asked with anticipation.
" Follow your heart, have a talk with him and resolve any dilemma there is that's my own advice" she said and touched my cheeks.
" Okay then kends, I will do just that when he returns later from his outing with Mandy" I said the last part a little annoyed.
" Can you smell something burning" Kendall asked. I started sniffing the air but I smelt nothing. " What, I can't smell anything" I replied.
" It's you, your hearts burning with jealousy" she teased and I just smiled and slumped into her lap as she continued massaging my head, it felt so good and refreshing that I ended up sleeping.
I slept for more than 2 hours and when I woke up it was already 7. I sat with dad in the balcony with the cool breeze and beautiful sky. We sat there and talked about a number of things both relevant and irrelevant.
I later went to Selenas room and played games with her, read her books, ate dinner and put her to sleep. It was almost 10 but Steven hasn't returned yet, what is he doing still out till now.
I gave up hope that he would return home tonight. Both the kids are fast asleep so the rest of us sat down in the living room playing board game. We heard the door ring and Joseph went and open the door. Not sooner enough Steven walked hand in hand with Mandy, she looked like an excited angel smiling as she clunged to his left arm while his face had no emotion.
I was too stupiditied to ask anything, what is going on here right now. Kendall did what I couldn't and asked the question on my behalf, " Steven, what's going on here, what's happening".
" Ms Kendall, Aria, and everyone I have some news to share with all of you. Right now you are the only people that are family to Steven, we want your blessings, Steven and I are going to get married very soon" Mandy said in elated voice and smiling eyes.
There was eerie silence in the room and Mandy's smile started turning awkward, "what is it, do you have a problem with this alliance" Mandy asked awkwardly.
" No, not at all, infact we are happy for you, just shocked it's quite the surprise, anyways congratulations, may the heavens bless your union" I said and hugged mandy.
" Thank you so much Aria, thank you" Mandy said reciprocating my hug. As I entangled from her I saw Kendall throwing me an angry look from the corner of my eye but I acted as I didn't notice her.
" So when is the wedding?" I asked. " If it's upto me we would be getting married this week. But they are a lot of plannings and preparations needed so I think it should be in a month. We will have the engagement ceremony in three weeks then get married the week after" Mandy said excited.
Ofcourse, every girl has dreams of her fairy tale wedding, I had that dream too but it was crushed, so I won't want Mandy to feel what I felt back then, even thou the man she is about to marry now is someone that I hage feelings for and even thou I still don't like her that much, but no woman deserve to be left at the altar or her dream wedding crashed.
" Very good, it's time this old bachelor get wed after all, I don't want him to die single. If at all you need any help with any prepation or anything at all just tell me and I would help" I said in an attempt to lighten the mood.
" Congratulations son, congrats dear, may you be happy" dad said.
" Congrats man, congrats Mandy" Joseph said with a nod and a slight smile that didn't reflect in his eyes.
" A very happy congratulations to the future Mr and Mrs Grayson. I hope I would be able to attend your engagement" Kendall said.
" What happened that you won't attend" Steven asked talking for the first time since he entered. " My friend sky is launching her new art gallery in two weeks and has invited me so am going. Moreover I miss London so I must go" Kendall said. And how did I not know about this I thought.
"Oh" Steven said and that's all. " So Mandy are you staying here the night?" I asked her.
" No, am going back home, I also have to do somethings and inform my brother as well" Mandy said with a smile. " Okay no problem, you should sit and join us for a while before leaving" I offered my eyes moving to their joined arms.
" No really it's getting late, I should head back home, please great Selena for me, bye" Mandy said.
" Guys I will drop her back home, see you soon" Steven said and led Mandy out of the house.
" Shall we continue" I asked meaning at the game. " Am not in the mood, good night" Kendall said and walked to her room, and Joseph followed.
I looked at dad hoping he would atleast stay back with me but he just said, " sorry dear, you know am old, I need rest so I am going to bed, goodnight" he said and walked out.
"So it's just me and my thoughts" I said to myself slumping into the chair.
