New Albion's streets were cloaked in darkness, the lamplights casting long, eerie shadows. The city bustled even at this hour, with vendors still hawking their goods and the occasional sound of a bard's lute drifting through the air. Among the city's night dwellers walked Gabriel Thorn, Selene Duval, and Steven Adler, each one blending into the shadows with practiced ease.

Gabriel Thorn led the trio, his movements smooth and confident. He glanced back at Selene and Steven, noting their contrasting demeanors. Selene's eyes darted around, ever watchful, while Steven's were filled with a calculating gleam, as if assessing the potential of everything and everyone they passed.

"This city has changed," Selene remarked, her voice a low murmur. "But the undercurrents remain the same."
