Bab 73: Synkka Wendigos!

As we left the wendigo-infested clearing behind, I found myself cradled in Levi's arm, his supernatural speed turning the forest into a blur around us.

To my surprise, he hadn't left the two boys behind as I'd expected. Instead, he'd scooped them up and slung them over his shoulder like sacks of flour, their unconscious forms bouncing slightly with each of his impossibly long strides.

The cool night air whipped past us, carrying with it the scent of pine and damp earth. My mind raced, still trying to process everything I'd witnessed.

As we sped through the darkness, a question that had been nagging at me since the confrontation in the clearing finally bubbled to the surface.

"Uncle Levi," I began, my voice barely audible over the rush of wind, "are there wendigos that can turn other humans into wendigos, like vampires do?"
