Bab 15: 15. SEE - GOODBYE

15. SEE - GOODBYE

Kay's hair bounced up in the wind, droplets of tears flying away. The sound of the speeding train disturbing the silence that was left hanging in the air.

Captain Choo Choo sighed as he tossed Kay down next to Sasha.

"Omph!" He grunted as his back slammed into the ground next to her.

Captain Choo Choo turned his gaze to the thick smoke rising from the engine room. "Haa~" he exhaled. The black smoke that had been enveloping him dissolved with the wind leaving behind the image of a light skinned man standing in a Captain's uniform.

"!!" Sasha and Kay both gasped in shock.

"Thanks kid. But the engine is done for, even if I merge with it one more time there's no guarantee I can stop it. I barely have any spirit energy left in me so I might not return."

Kay battled againt his aching body and said. "Don't say that, you'll make it."

The captain looked at him and smiled. "Haha. What a dumb kid you are. I had a brother once, a little one who bought me my fi--"

"HEY!" Sasha cut in. "What the hell are you doing you crazy man? Stop the darn train already!"

Captain Choo Choo winked at them before merging with the train engine. The train screeched on the track and slowly came to a forced stop before it reached the station.

The force exerted it throwing them both off.

"Waaaahh!!" Kay screamed as he fell down on the grass.

"Acccckk!!!" Sasha screamed out as she clutched to her hand, wailing and taking repeated breaths.

Kay forced himself up to his knees and crawled to her. "Hey, um, uh. Sorry. Are you alright."

Sasha puffed up her cheeks as she looked up at his face just inches above hers and tried to hold in the pain.

She slowly parted her lips to speak. "Stupid four eyes, what part of this looks okay to you?"

Kay started to stammer. "Ur-- sorry."

"Quit saying that, it's annoying." See said, her cheeks reddening.

Kay froze there and locked eyes with her and said nothing.

Sasha raised her hand and pushed his face away from hers, his lips feeling cold to her touch. "Damn virgin pervert."

Kay pushed himself up to his feet and helped her up. "N--not a pervert. Besides you're also a vi--"

She lashed at him with daring eyes. "Don't even say it." Her cheeks reddened further.

Kay mumbled. "But it's true."

Sasha held her hand and watched the scenery before them, a small grassland near the outskirts of the city. "Whew. Let us never do that again, not like we're ever doing that again by the way. And how are you not hurt?"

Kay stammered again. "N-- no, I don't think so. I never once thought the supernatural existed."

A moment later they were walking down a farm path after making their late escape from the smoking train before the authorities could arrive. Sasha limping most of the way and withdrawing from any help offered by Kay aside from carrying her bag.

Sasha stopped halfway down the farm path and said without looking back. "Alright four eyes, I can make my way from here."

Kay gripped his bag handle nervously and spoke in a hurt tone. "So this is goodbye then?"

There was a brief silence.

Crickets syatyed chirping with fireflies flying over their heads.

Sasha hissed and started to retreat from him. "What is with you four eyes? Just because of all this nonsense you put us through you think I'll buddy up to you...?! Yeah! Keep dreaming, cause I'm off your league."

Kay felt like he would cry on the spot. "So this is rejection the boys often talk about? I really thought we would be friends, pity."

As he watched her leave the only thing he could do was wave and shout. "Goodbye then and sorry."

He stayed there for a while and announced to himself. "It really late in the night, uncle will kill when I get home."

He turned and went his own way with a pained feeling in his heart unknown that he was being monitored by a red pumpkin head hidden in the grass with flashing white eyes.

After they had gotten home that night they were both heavily scolded by their uncles and made to write a forgiveness form of three hundred pages.

None of them told their guardians what had happened that night or about the other party but they could not forget the paranormal ordeal.

Much more they could not stop thinking about the other as they slept on their beds, uncertain of what the next day would have in store for them...
