Bab 185: Whispers

The party seemed to come to a standstill like in a movie. 

All eyes turned to Leila and Patty Smith and her minions. It was silent and awkward before the people started discussing the sudden scream. Everyone wanted to know what happened in the corner. 

Leila, who stood to slap Patty, sat down, unbothered by the stares. While she did not like to be in the spotlight, she was never one to feel uncomfortable when being stared at by people who did not matter. 

Unfortunately, her hearing could not be turned down, even if she could ignore the situation. She heard people talking about her with ugly words. As she listened to the whispers, she wondered if she should check the internet.

'I heard that the girl is from the village and forced the Campbell family to adopt her.'

'So embarrassing! How can she not keep a low profile as someone who does not belong to Lake City?'
