Bab 78: Intrusive Thoughts

Sterling stepped into the cabin with some anticipation before standing still. 

He did not know what he anticipated, but he did not expect the interior space that seemed straight out of a bad Christmas movie. Unlike the outer area, the interior was panelled with warm wood and had soft décor, complete with comfortable furniture. 

There was even a fireplace with real firewood. If he could describe a stereotypical cabin where good things happen, it would look like Callum's house. Even the air had a refreshing pine smell. It explained why Sterling always smelled like a forest. 

Somehow, the space did not match the scene before him with the vampire he knew. 

He found it unbelievable that Callum would choose this scheme voluntarily instead of some dark décor reminiscent of his night club, The Citadel. 

"Surprised?" Callum leaned in, looking at Sterling's face.
