Bab 73: Feigning Anger

Akio, who kept walking forward to catch up with her, scared Clover even more. Clover dodged by continuing to run towards the centre of the beach.

'I want to go home. I want to go home to Joe. I don't want to be here with you!' Clover said as she continued to cry and took more difficult steps towards the centre of the beach. 

Her steps were heavy against the water, but Clover hoped that when she swam, there might be some help nearby.

Akio, who initially only responded to Clover's frightened cries, began to panic when Clover's body was no longer visible as the medium-sized waves rolled over the body of his beloved woman.

He ran as fast as he could. Akio swam after Clover's body, which was back in sight but was already helplessly tossed by the shore's waves.
