Bab 3: Meeting my new relatives
I am nervous. I am anxious. I am excited. I am a mixture of feelings right now.
Phi- Dad and Mom?
They told me that they would introduce me to my grandparents and uncle today.
Many things are currently different than the memory says years later.
DeD- My grandma and grandpa are still married, but grandpa has been wanting to divorce since a while ago.
As for Mitchell. He hasn't yet met Cam. It was currently 1999. It would take a while for that to happen.
"Phil a-", I wanted to say something but saw Phil's look.
"Dad and Mom, how do you think everyone reacts? They don't even know that I exist."
Thats right. My adoptive parents haven't told anyone about my existence yet. The same as Mitchell in the memory did with Lily.
"I am sure they will love you dear", Claire said and hugged me.
"ok", I said thinking about the truth.
Will they accept me? I don't know. I don't even know if I exist. Am I even real? Am I just in a TV show? I don't know and maybe I will never know.
I stopped thinking about that as it would lead to an infinite train of thought that no one could ever follow.
I stopped thinking of my existence and started thinking about my new relatives again.
I was unsure.
Would they accept me? Did they accept Lily only because she was a child? Would they accept me even if I am already 6 years old?
I couldn't stop thinking about these questions.
"What is Gabi", little Haley asked. She called me like that as she thought Gabriel was too long.
"I fear your grandparents wouldn't accept me", I told her the truth.
"Why wouldn't they? And they are our grandparents", Haley asked curiously and innocently.
"I don't know", I just said. Haley couldn't think of that much.
Time flew by quickly and soon the doorbell rang.
I heard a voice. I couldn't hold out any longer and ran behind the kitchen counter. I didn't want to know the answer. If I didn't know the answer it wouldn't exist.
A few seconds later the second time the doorbell rang. It made me even more nervous. This time I heard two voices. They should be Ja- my grandparents.
I was still hiding behind the kitchen counter, but I heard them talk in the living room.
"Me and Phil have something important to discuss with you guys", this was Cla- mom.
"As long it isn't one of you coming out like Mitchell", that was Ja- grandpa.
"Stop- Dad", that was Mitchell.
"STOP!", m-om again.
I still couldn't say Mom in one go. It felt incorrect.
"Me and Phil have got another child"
"Right after little Luke? Wow", this time it was De- my grandmother.
"No, he's as old as Haley and he's adopted. He had a gruesome time before us. Please don't overreact in front of him. No loud screams."
"Gabriel dear. Where are you?", Clai- mom asked.
I wanted to go out but my body stopped me.
"I will look for him", Ph- Dad said.
He first looked around and then found me after not even a minute.
"Come with me, little guy. You don't need to be nervous"
I nodded, but my feet still stayed in place.
"Come take my hand. Let us share the pressure together"
I took his hand and we went towards the others.
"You must be little Gabriel, right? You are a cute little one"
I sighed in my heart. I knew Uncle Mitchell was sincere and actually accepted me.
"Let me see you close up. Another cute little boy in our family. It seems you guys are trying to regain the overweight again"
This was Grandma. She laughed. I could tell from her expression that she too was sincere.
"Come here little boy. I can see potential in you. Someday you might inherit my closet empire. You look like a smart little guy"
And this was Grandpa. He too was smiling.
A heavy drag from my heart fell. I now knew everyone accepted me. It was a feeling I couldn't describe. I was happy.
I knew I finally had a family.
My family.

burakku Sorry for the - after the names. It should symbolize his fear that his new family didn't like him and he would be thrown away. After they accepted him he started calling them mom and dad without hesitation.
As for Haley and Alex. Will they see him as a brother? I don't think so.
Shouldn't be incest. They will mostly think of him as a friend, not a brother.
