Bab 14: FEAR!!!
As the caskets' covers fell to the ground, two figures stood within. The two previous Lords that ruled as Hokage before Hiruzen's rule as the third, Hashirama Senju (the First Hokage) and the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju.
Naruto watched as the two people who embodied his ambition emerged from the coffins. Orochimaru stood behind the two Kage and swiftly struck them with kunai attached to sealing tags. Although the two Kage appeared unharmed, they stood facing the third after absorbing the kunai into themselves.
"Wait. The first and second died before I was even born. How could they be standing there...!' "A GHOST AAAAHHH!!!"
Naruto's face drained of color as he spun around and bolted as if his life depended on it. If there was one thing Naruto feared, it was ghosts. But ghosts weren't real until now, so Naruto had always been fearless.
He dashed back to the civilian platform, where Sakura was berating Shikamaru.
"SAKURA, SAVE ME!" Naruto rushed over and sought refuge behind Sakura. "Naruto, what are you doing? GET OFF ME!" "G-G-G-G-G, Ghost," Naruto stammered, clutching Sakura's shoulders, using her as a shield. "NARUTO, WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS, WE HAVE A MISSION TO COMPLETE." Naruto released Sakura's shoulders. "What kind of mission?"
Shikamaru rose and approached them. "The five of us are going after the sand genin; Sasuke's already on their trail, so we need to move if we want to catch up."
"Shikamaru?... What do you mean, the five of us? Who else is joining?" A small dog wearing a ninja headband emerged from behind Shikamaru. "Down here, kid, the name's Pakkun. I'm one of Kakashi's summoned beasts," Pakkun introduced himself.
"How are you going to help? You don't look very reliable," Naruto crouched down, eyeing Pakkun with curiosity. "I'll track Sasuke's scent. We don't have time to waste; let's go," Pakkun said. Naruto stood up, nodding. "Let's go." Pakkun sniffed the air and set off in the direction of Sasuke's location, followed by Naruto, Ash, Sakura, and Shikamaru.

In a forest withing konoha

The five ran through the forest passing by trees at fast speeds. Suddenly Pakkun made a sharp turn. 'Pick up the pace,' Pakkun urged the others to step up their pace. "WHAT IS IT!!" Something didn't feel right to Sakura.
"From behind two squads with eight... no one more, nine men are chasing us," Pakkun could smell the enemy pursuing them and revealed their numbers and location to the rest of the group. "Hey, hey already you've gotta be kidding," Shikamaru couldn't believe the amount of trouble Kakashi put him in by sending him on this mission.
"Don't look like they've pinned down our exact location yet, but they're closing in fast. Stay on alert for any surprise attacks," Pakkun grew tense with the constantly thinning distance between them and the enemy." "What a drag, They're probably all above the chunin level, if they catch up to us we're all going to be annihilated."
'Damn.....well if that's the case I could buy us some time,' Naruto crossed his fingers and manifested a bunch of Shadow clones. "MULTI SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!!!!". The clones used the transformation technique to take the appearance of the whole group and spread in different directions to fabricate extra tracks to fool the enemy. " I can't believe I'm saying this but you're a genius Naruto, the changes of them finding us have dramatically lowered let's head back on course" shikamaru's impression of Naruto changed for a moment " Hehe I practiced my stealth alot when I was sneaking around and pranking everyone back in the old days" and then it fell as fast as it rose " That was a few months ago idiot" Sakura was fumed at naruto's audacity, she'd punch him if they weren't on a mission.
" HAHAha.... Hey Pakkun Ash has been wondering how you got a leaf ninja head band did you have to pass some sort of test"
" Ash?" Everyone looked at Naruto, confused. " Who's Ash?". Naruto and ash realised that they never really introduced him to anyone " oh sorry everybody this here is Ash, he's almost one month old and he's my summon", " frogadier" ash greeted them politely. Everyone greeted ash and welcomed him although the language barrier proved difficult to break, Naruto had to translate Ash's words through their bond.
" Well you see in order for a summon to get a leaf head band they need to prove both their loyalty to the village as well as their worth. I for one was raised by kakashi ever since I was a puppy so my loyalty was a given and my worth lies in my tracking capabilities. That's basically it there isn't a big test or anything, aslong as you meet these criteria you can become a leaf Shinobi although there would be a bit of paperwork you need to fill out" Pakkun gave a rundown on the procedure and Ash's face was covered with delightful smile" Froggaaa".
" I guess that means you qualify Ash, too bad we gotta do paperwork tho" Naruto slumped in defeat. Suddenly he snapped his head up "Not good they split up and started killing off my clones one by one, sooner or later we'll be found out". Everyone tensed up and renewed their efforts and sped up their pace. " How do you know Naruto" shikamaru asked for his source of information if there was a lag in the time it took for Naruto to receive the message then the enemy could be closer than they think. " Huh what do you mean they killed my clone everytime my clones die I see what they did ever since I summoned them, it's really annoying because I remember just how bad they got beat ". ' what the.... Are you saying you can gather information with that jutsu, normally a ninja could only make one or two so that extra feature wouldn't be worth mentioning but with how many Naruto can make.... It wouldn't be excessive to call it an unfair advantage even in this unfair world, I'll keep it to myself for now'. Keeping his revelation to himself shikamaru dashed forward unhindered by his thoughts.* Sigh* "Pakkun update us on the enemies locations, what are they doing".
"..... It seems they're regrouping and there's another scent..... Asuma sarutobi is fighting them as we speak....scratch that Asuma beat them already"
" Who the heck is Asuma he's got the same last name as JIJI" Naruto asked Pakkun but sakura was the one to answer " He's Asuma sarutobi the son of the current Hokage, he's an elite jonin just like kakashi sensei" shikamaru continued where she left off " he's also my team's jonin sensei,you can tell just how strong he is by how fast he beat around 9 ninja around jonin level by himself just now"
" Oh so he's JIJI's son I wonder if he's bratty like konohamaru "Naruto was talking under his breath but Pakkun with his enhanced senses heard him ' Poor kid the guy your talking about is quietly trailing us and there's no way a jonin didn't hear that'.
