　　It was stupid. Stupid to be so scared. Cazz could tear out Ryan's throat before my brother could blink, I was certain of it. But, seeing his face…

　　My heart was thumping and my fingers had started to tremble. It was so dumb! If Ryan was here, even if he was looking for me, it wasn't like he was coming to kill me, or anything. For fuck's sake, he sold me to the wolves. He didn't give two shits about me. So why did my body feel like he was creeping up behind me, holding a gun to my head?

　　Because coming here was supposed to be the escape.

　　I kept flipping through the photographs spread out over the table, but I wasn't really seeing any of them, and I wasn't being organized in how I filtered through, so I kept looking at the same photographs over and over.

　　I could feel Cazz's eyes on me. The wolves were murmuring to each other, and probably talking in their heads. I didn't know who half these males were… but why did I feel safer here than I did in my own home?
