"You are late. You said you would not be gone long," said Faith Waller.

Faith closed the book she was reading and got up to greet her father. "Did you find anything about the prince and his wife?"

Lewis Waller, Faith's father, handed his coat to a maid. "I had to be careful. I heard the prince killed some of the court today. I don't know what for yet since I came home instead of asking around. Things are getting dangerous but I will speak to the king."

"Is there something that can be done at this point? You said that it was certain I would marry Zayne yet he was returned with a wife. It is embarrassing and a slap in the face to our family that they allowed him to marry a stranger. I must wed soon," Faith said since time was going by fast.
