From AT&T to Price's List, John had undoubtedly given up a job with a stable income. However, it was precisely because of his exposure to telecommunications network technology at AT&T that John realized the immense opportunities it contained.
In his early thirties, he wanted to climb higher at AT&T which usually required over five years. But if he moved to a company representing the emerging internet technology industry, that time could be significantly reduced.
Of course, the most critical aspect was the potential rewards, fixed salary was what he earned at AT&T, at Price's List John hoped one day to be earning stock dividends.
