The carriage was spacious, and Ye Zao was all smiles throughout the journey.

"So happy?" Fourth Master glanced at her and then smiled with her.

"Happy, Master took me out, I'm really delighted," Ye Zao leaned a bit closer, not minding the presence of maids in the carriage, and took hold of Fourth Master's hand.

Fourth Master wasn't used to such affection but didn't pull away either, instead, he clasped her hand in his.

The journey was rather long, and with Fourth Master not speaking, Ye Zao began to feel sleepy, at first she resisted, but soon she couldn't help herself.

With her eyes half-closed, she rested her head on Fourth Master's arm and closed her eyes completely.

Seeing her like this, Fourth Master chuckled, extended his arm to embrace her, and although he still didn't speak, he gently patted her shoulder.

Ye Zao hummed softly, snuggled into Fourth Master's chest, and fell into a deep sleep.

After a while, Yu Xie draped a cloak over Ye Zao.
