In the room, the servant was holding the child, trying to soothe them. I saw a baby bottle in her hand, which she must have been using in an attempt to get the child to drink some formula.

However, it was completely ineffective; the child kept on crying incessantly.

Seeing me arrive, the servant finally let out a sigh of relief. As I took the child from her, I asked, "Isn't Sister Zhao here?"

Mr. Li sighed helplessly, "Your Sister Zhao has gone out on an errand and probably won't be back tonight."

The moment I took the child from the servant's arms, the crying ceased. Those big eyes looked at me pitifully, as if to reproach me for not feeding them in time.

Looking at this child made me start to miss my own son, and there were many times I even started to think of this child as my own.

Whenever I saw him, I would feel content and experience an inexplicable sense of closeness.
