The sound of a knock on my bedroom door echoed once more. I've lost track of how many times Lorie has attempted to deliver meals to my room despite the fact that I had not unlocked the door and had repeatedly told her to leave.

I couldn't tell the difference between day and night any longer. Everything seemed to be a haze to me at the time. I was taking deep breaths in this emptiness. Lost. Confused.
