Bab 122: This Demi-God, Man

From the crowd of bandits, a man stepped forward. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and his armor looked like it had seen better days. His eyes glinted with a hunger that Arthur recognized immediately—this man was no ordinary bandit. He was a [Demi-God], and from the way he carried himself, he was more than willing to kill to prove his power.

"This is our turf," the [Demi-God] announced, his voice grating like sandpaper. "Anyone who wants to pass through here has to pay the toll."

Arthur raised an eyebrow. "Toll? Let me guess—our heads?"

The [Demi-God] smirked. "Smart boy. You pass through the East Side, you pay the price. Anyone heading toward that shiny new [Dungeon] has to go through us. Lucky for you two, today's toll is… everything you have."

Lily snorted, her sword crackling with flames. "Bold of you to assume we have anything worth giving to the likes of you."
