Bab 44: 44. A Skill Book
Zion panted softly as he sat next to the bulls body and stared at it, half expecting it to get back up.
Sarah walked over, holding her arm which was still tingling a bit, "I didn't expect its body to turn metal too." She pouted a bit.
'"Yes that was unexpected."' Zion nodded his head at her. Ithil moved forward and opened a bag, causing the bulls body to get pulled into it, "At least we finally beat it. And it was a whole rank higher then us!" He grinned excitedly, his ears actually twitched a bit.
Once the body had been removed, all that remained was a small pit of blood. However, while the others were discussing how they had felt their strength increase after fighting the bull, Zion noticed something else in the blood.
He walked over curiously and looked down at what was in the blood. It seemed to be a book? It had the words *Body Hardening* on the front cover, 'What's this? Analysis.'

'"Guys... hey guys!"' Zion shouted at the kids as he was excited. He had read about skill books. It was an extremely low chance, a 1 in 50,000 chance of one dropping from a beast when killed.
No one knows why or how beasts drop these books but they don't question it. They can however be sold at a huge price due to how rare they are and the fact that only one person can learn from a single book. It seems to vanish once one person finishes reading it.
The kids all turned around and saw Zion holding a book in his mouth. Their eyes widened when he walked over and dropped it in front of them, '"I found it in the blood of the bull."' He told them.
"It's... it's really a skill book?!" Jacob's eyes were popping out of his skull at this point.
"Holy... that's so cool. Even I've never seen a skill book." Ithils eyes widened slightly as he stared at the book.
"The title says Body Hardening... does that mean like when the bull turned into metal?" Sarah asked.
"I would think so due to the name. So... who gets it?" Aala asked. Everyone looked at each other, "Rock Paper Scissors?" Sarah offered.
Ithil was the first to decline, "I don't want it. It's not a good spell for a mage to have."
"I also don't want it. I don't like the fact that the bull couldn't move when it used it." Aala shook her head.
Sarah glanced at Zion and saw him staring intently at the book, "I don't want it for myself, however if Zion wants it, I'll play for him."
"I would also like it. It would be handy to become a full body tank even if it's just for a split second." Jacob grinned at the book then looked at Sarah.
Zion nodded at Sarah, '"I do wish for the skill myself. So I'll ask you to compete of my behalf."'
Sarah nodded and both her and Jacob did 3 rounds of rock paper scissors. Sarah won 2 out of 3 and so, Zion got the skill book.
He picked it up in his mouth, '"Now that's over with, we have a little over 2 hours left before we leave. Let's leave this area then take 15 minutes to rest. Everyone agreed?"' He asked everyone's opinion and they all nodded.
Fighting that bull had drained them all terribly and so they were exhausted. "Thats a great idea Zion, but one problem with that..." Aala grinned at Zion. He tilted his head in confusion before suddenly, a water ball the size of a football fell on him from above, drenching him.
Sarah, Jacob, Aala all laughed while even Ithil giggled a bit at the 3 foot red and white wet mop style fox, "Sorry Zion... but you're covered in blood." He explained. Once Zion had been completely cleaned of blood, they left the area with the bulls blood before it drew in beasts when they couldn't fight at full strength.
They found a safe spot and sat to rest and eat a few dried biscuits and drink water. Zion sat a small distance away from them, both acting as scout while also looking at the skill book.
As far as he had learned, people in this world had to read the book from front to back before it would vanish without a trace and they could use the skill.
Zion however, had a cheat due to the system. He focused on the book but nothing happened until he flipped the book open to the first page. Once he did that, a notification popped up.

'Yes.' Zion replied in his mind and the book suddenly started rapidly flipping through the pages, making the faint sound of pages flipping fill the air around him.
Once the book reached the end and closed on its own, the book seemed to just disintegrate into nothingness.

DragonQueen2105 I've just realised I should have been adding rankings to the skills he has been learning all this time.
I'm going back through the chapters to edit and add rankings to skills he has gained but in the future, skills will have ranks and levels.
