Bab 24: The Paranoia Feeling

Lexzandra returns to her room, feeling the weight of the morning's events still pressing on her. She barely has a moment to gather her thoughts when Elara's animated exclamation startles her.

"Your Highness!" Elara says, her voice bubbling with excitement. She holds up a beautifully adorned envelope, waving it eagerly. "Another invitation! This one is from Lady Winchester."

Lexzandra's twists into disinterest. "Throw it out," she says curtly, cutting Elara off mid-sentence.

Elara's face falls. "But, Your Highness, why are you throwing out all these invitations? You used to be so happy to receive one."

Lexzandra doesn't bother to explain in detail. "I'm not interested," she says flatly, turning away from Elara and heading towards her wardrobe.
