Bab 142: I'm not falling asleep ( R18)

As the movie continued to play, I noticed Zaya fighting a losing battle against sleep. Her eyelids drooped, and she would blink rapidly to stay awake. It was both endearing and amusing, and I couldn't help but laugh softly.

"Are you okay over there?" I asked, chuckling as I nudged her lightly.

Zaya blinked and tried to focus on me, a sleepy smile tugging at her lips. "Yeah, just... tired. Long day."

I shook my head, still laughing. "You don't have to stay awake, you know. It's okay to fall asleep."

She gave me a playful glare. "I'm not going to fall asleep," she declared, though her voice lacked conviction.

Before I could respond, Zaya suddenly moved, pinning me to the couch with surprising swiftness. Her body was warm against mine, and I could feel the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. My own heart started to race as I looked up into her eyes, which were now fully awake and filled with a mischievous spark.
